bit of ML trivia:
The opening song for the CdC-tour is "I want you so hard (boy's bad news)" by the "eagles of death metal"
One of the singers on the original track is actually Jack Black.

I like that bit of trivia, esp as it's a sort of circular link as Meat played the young Jack Black's dad in the Tenacious D movie.

Much as my mum can be a bit of a pain sometimes, she keeps me entertained and is always first port of call when I need advice for something (afterall, she managed to get to 60, and raised me, so she can't be far wrong about things!)

Agreed! At least when it's really cold you can put on some more clothes to warm up, in this weather you can be wearing nothing and taking cold showers every few hours and STILL be roasting

as long as the lamda is in place you wont do any damage to the car, it'll just sound really LOUD!!!! A dodgy quick temporary repair if the hole isn't too big is to fold over loads of tinfoil, wrap it around the pipe, over the hole, and secure with some hose clips
You're scarily clever. Can I hang around with you for a while in the hopes that some of your car knowledge will rub off? It interests me, just no one is ever around to explain what everything does, and in a really really scary fashion, I know more about cars than any of my friends (i.e. I'm the only one who knows how to change a tyre)

I think it's a series 2...it's a 51 plate. That exhaust bit in your link does look a lot like the part of the exhaust with the huge gaping hole in it (how that went like that without me realising is somewhat embarrassing i can tell you!), but there is also the thing that from your explanation sounds like it is definately the lambda sensor. Yes it's still there, but am not entirely sure what the thing is that it attaches to - will take it to the garage to sort that bit.

Thank you btw, I feel much better now I know what some of the bits are and I can explain a little easier to the mechanic now, rather than doing that dumb blonde thing of saying "it's making a noise"!

Since I feel we've had 4 months of winter followed by 3 months of autumn so far this year, I am not complaining at all about the weather. I rather enjoyed being decadent and having a pub lunch and lager in a beer garden this afternoon and my shoulders are a lovely pink colour as a souvenir! Whilst I despise the heat inside the office (I have no windows and no air conditioning), I have no complaints at weekend!
