I don't think it's a big deal. I didn't see any mention of it on any of the entertainment shows yesterday. Like John Rich said, the focus should be on charity.

It is really a shame that his whole situation got clearly blown way over the top. The way it was edited and such did make it seem way worse. Anybody who gets their buttons pushed like that would snap. I know I would have... It is about working together as a team for charity. Not for ratings.

It is a shame that the media has taken this whole thing to another level. Not surprised though. After working in the film industry for close to 15 years very little surprises me.

Anyhow, good for you Meat for standing up for yourself. Hang tuff the media will get bored and move on.

Great post, i totally agree. Although I'm ok with the media not moving on quite yet...it may be crap exposure, but it puts Meat in the spotlight of North Americans who likely haven't seen or heard from him in awhile, and that can only be a good thing. Everyone knows reality tv isn't reality, its tweaked for ratings, and i doubt most people who possesses a thinking cap will judge him that bad in the long run.

in case anybody hasn't said, Meat's situation with Busey was on the TV show the TV show, Conan, for me its on the Comedy Network. They made a little spoof about reasons why 'Reasons why China is kicking our ass.' (United States)

And they showed Meat screaming at Busey from the Apprentice. Which in reaction I found rather amusing, but was curious too. After the show I just asked myself, how can they not air the apprentice music on the show 'Conan' but they could use that clip? Perhaps cause it was on YouTube this week?

Because it's the tv reality crap people lovvvvvvvvvvve ... and it's disgusting, imo... and in reality, people viewing this crap would NEVER live with it in their own homes in reality !!! I must say, I laugh at Gary Busey. I find him the comedy relief on this show, however... I'd NEVER want him to work in my office !!! The only reason I'm watching this show is because Meat is on it. The "reality" show I do watch and enjoy is Dancing With The Stars ... I don't see/ hear backstabbing and screeching on it... People may get frustrated trying to get down a routine properly and kvetch a bit, but they work hard and the end result is entertainment.

PS... Barbara Walters on The View said after viewing Meat's outburst that HE should have been fired ...

From the contestants' view, yes, and that's why feelings run high as the teams work under pressure on unfamilar tasks. The producers chase ratings. Meat having said that the bag of paints JR found and taken to be his were in fact Busey's was illuminating. One could be forgiven for wondering how far the situation may have been contrived by producers who, having observed Meat Loaf managing his growing frustration with Busey during the first four tasks, were hoping to provoke a confrontation that would achieve exactly the pubicity it did.

As you say, it's a shame that the media has taken it to another level, and also that their column inches are devoted solely to Meat's momentary loss of temper when, under pressure, his buttons were pushed once too often, and none to his sincere and heartfelt apology afterwards, or that he made no excuses or self-justification later in the boardroom, both of which are more a measure of the man .. I doubt they get any reference in the TV shows which have been mentioned here either, but would have provided the more fair and balanced picture of Meat which I would like to see given to America's huddled masses.

But that's the media, I doubt Meat is surprised, and as you say, they will get bored and move on. As will Meat move on to more success in the programme, and continued success in all he does.

From their replies to Trump as to who he should fire it seems that the rest of the men feel like you do and not Barbara!

She's probably still pished she couldn't get Meat to cry when he was on her show promoting his bio years back... I got so angry at her when she did that insincere, rating-grabbing quiet way of speaking of hers when she asked about an incident with Meat's father ... bah !

My friends agree with Kimmel though

YouTube Video

It's silly tv which I'm not a fan of. It's a crazy outburst over some freaking paint. No matter how it's edited it's painful to see.

Not sure what the intention of the producers of this show are, all I know is what my friends think of Meat Loaf now. Which is not that positive. And from that outburst I can't even blame them.

Silly silly (worthless) tv. bah

As far as the producers go, it's all about the ratings.

If people have been watching the episodes up until this point, they would see that Meat (and the rest of the team) had been extremely patient with Gary. It was the straw that broke the camel's back ... not just a silly outburst over some paint. It happens to the best of us ... Meat is a human being afterall

Meat apologized to Gary ... Gary accepted, and they were able to put it behind them for the sake of the team. Meat is doing great on the show, earning a lot of money for a very worthy cause .. IMO that is what people need to get back to focusing on. And I'm sure this will all blow over once we see the next big fight (between NeNe and Star ).

My son watched the show and he thought Gary stole your paints. But he was completely taken aback by your apology to Gary. He was more impressed with the apology and even commented that you really didn't have to, but clearly it took a big man to do that.
You just gained a fan, and one that is 14, bit of an accomplishment in itself.

so that was what all the fuss was over? *

i have to say I think the jimmy kimmel video got it spot on and maybe break downs and wild rants are flavour of the month thanks to Charlie Sheen but it just comes across as absolutely pointless from Meat's point of view and I don't think editing has anything to do with it.

c'mon Meat you're better than a rant filled with expletives just to get yourself on prime time television.

*i'm basing this on the kimmel video

whatever meat does, someone's always going to critique it. He's damned if he tries something new, and he's damned if he does nothing. so you know what? lets just go along for the ride and see if anything good comes from the Apprentice in the long run.

I wholeheartedly agree Vicki, anyone would think it was the only time anyone ever lost their temper on TV. I'm actually quite surprised no one went off at him earlier. People are so focused on that, and not on the apology and are assuming Meat was still in the wrong because they 'magically' turned up and assume that they were Meat's and he went on about nothing. They don't bother to say how he sincerely apologised and are forgetting the big picture, how much money is being raised for the charities.

True .... but a lot of good has already come from the Apprentice.
Meat has earned a lot of money and brought awareness to a very worthy cause And that's what this should be all about

I mean absolutely no disrespect ... but IMO you can't base this just on the Jimmy Kimmel video. You really need to watch all of the episodes up to this point to understand what happened

OK here it is , I had been the one baby sitting Gary with John Rich. He started a fight the night before with Lil John, Richard Hatch, Star Jones, and Mark. He tried to start with me again and I walked away for the third time. He grabbed me in the store had taken things out of my basket, never lifted a hand to help the team unload the truck into the paint shop.
from the art store. If you think I yelled for attention, boy do you not know who I am. I try to do everything to keep attention away from me. Gary made everyone on the team crazy from day one. Had fights with everyone everyday. I had slept for 4 hours when that all went down. What Gary had done that morning to the whole team was just absurd. The whole team was ready to kill him. Yes , I had a right to be mad, but I was wrong taking it that far. I said the wrong things. I don't remember now who wrote I did it for attention , let me tell you I don't need that kind of attention !!!
