Good that the bank is sorting it out Ash.

Sorry to hear that Ash, it's frightening when it happens, last year someone cloned my atm card and took 4000 euro from my account in the space of 3 days, my bank was literally asleep at the wheel and didn't notice that i was taking money out in dublin at the same time someone was in singapore and bangkok! nuts but true.

After a long battle i got the money back... i hope you do too but that you don't have to wait as long to sort it all out.

Andrew, you'd be amazed at the amount of people that call us not just to say that their paypal accounts were hacked into but that their bank accounts and debit/credit cards were hacked as well.

yet funnily enough, I was in Berlin earlier this year, and tried to take my own money out of my own bank account yet I couldn't because they were suspicious that my card was being used abroad. they rang me to say that they suspect someone's trying to take out money at one of Berlin's airports. I said no shit sherlock, it's me!

but my paypal got hacked the other day - gala online casino or something tried (and succeeded) taking £200. I sorted it out by contacting paypal, and they refunded me.

Well...

I watched yesterday Lewis Black and he determined that the root of all evil was a boob job ( it was between steroids and boob job)...so...guess that leaves Disney out...but I would absolutely block it...in a heartbeat...Hannah Montana should take high school musical and they all should go you know where...

Ash, sorry for your trouble...I got my card cancelled for suspected fraud once cause I dared to go to Lowes and buy house supplies amounting to $8.85 which in British money is something like (-10) pounds or something...so...it goes both ways...idiots...hope things work out soon...

Thanks all for the nice replies, it's a bit of a comfort to know I'm not the only person who's had this happen to them although I'm sorry for those of you who've had to put up with this crap too.

What I was most surprised about really was that it was my main account that was targeted rather than my second one which is the one I use for almost all online/PayPal stuff. I keep that second account for online transactions specifically because I know it's almost empty all the time unless I transfer some cash over from the main account. Ah well, these things happen. I'm just glad this happened after I was in London rather than before!
