it's so long since I last watched a movie (all the way through*) i couldn't even begin to guess what it might have been!

* I watched part of something with a couple of (guy) mates a few weeks back, no idea what it was, but essence of parts I saw seemed to be something along the lines of crazy guy gives girl lift in stunt car, kills her. then kills girl's friends who are in another car. then tries to kill another group of girls who get away. they get own back on guy. guy injured. one of girls shoots guy. lots of views of girls asses. clearly a bloke film. not great. and blood/gore bits nearly gave me nightmares! recommended only to people with strong appreciation for female rears and strong constitution re blood/gore stuff.

According to the description, it could be Death Proof by Quentin Tarantino.

Just watched Absolutely Fabulous: The Last Shout. Hilarious!

"Being John Malkovich" last night...probably the strangest thing I've ever seen. Quite good though...

Four Weddings and a Funeral - I needed something that didn't require brain power.

I have to say I didn't rate it much the first time I saw it... Love the music, (actually bought the soundtrack the other day) and the film itself has grown on me... It's a typical Tarantino, full of blood, guts, gore and lots of unnecessary violence, but then again, that's half the fun....

As for me, last films I saw were X-Men 2 yesterday, and X-Men 3 this morning...

Not sure what to watch now... might go with Rockette's suggestion and watch 4 Weddings again.... that's if I can find it, amongst the enormous DVD collection...

Whatever happened to Bond eh? I watched QOS on Wednesday and fair enough the action is fantastic but there are absolutely no gadgets and there is no humour. I thought that along with the good action were the 3 main ingredients of a Bond movie? Not some unbeatable Jackie Chan / Terminator style action figure anyway.

There is no Q and Daniel Craig doesn't even have one liners in this movie (a la Roger Moore). There is actually very little dialogue and Craig doesn't mention "Bond, James Bond" once as far as I remember and where was the shaken vodka martini? Apparently in Casino Royale (which I have not watched yet) he says when he is offered exactly this drink: "Do I look like I give a damn?". That may be funny to a lot of people but to me it is sad that they resort to this. It's a bit like ripping the S off Superman's costume in my opinion. You have to live with it as it has been done like this but why?? No Moneypenny either.

Also why is the gun barrel scene at the end of QOS and not at the beginning?! To some these details may be forgettable but I think it is quite cheeky to make a movie and forget about those little details. Previous Bond films were much more a specific style, now it just blends into the background of all the movie garbage that gets released. Moreover a movie like QOS is not something I would want to see over and over again, which is exactly what I did with the older Bond movies (up till "Die another Day"). I don't like this new style at all, the little details are gone.

They could have continued with Brosnan for several more films. I really didn't see a problem with Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and Die another Day. All great movies (The world is not enough looked rushed and lacked a good story).

As far as I am concerned they may as well now get rid of the opening song / graphical introduction. Why not if you are going to forget everything else?
A shame.

Hmmm.... let's see.... Sunday afternoon while cooking: School of Rock. Sunday night: The Bourne Identity. This morning while studying: The Queen, followed by Carrie. And now we're watching The Bourne Supremacy... Will probably follow it up with The Bourne Ultimatum tomorrow night....

Watched M Night Shyamalan's latest offering The Happening last night. Not quite up to the standards of The Sixth Sense, but on a par with The Village and well worth a watch.

Shyamalan always puts certain elements in his films, you could almost make a Shyamalan film recipe book of all the things he includes in each film, which some might say makes for boring/samey films...this film is definitely worth watching but this time he's taken out just a couple of those elements and for me it didn't work so well Some jumpy bits and absolute comedy lines in it though!

No movie but some episodes of my favorite British sitcom Keeping Up Appearances. I just love the snobbish "Bucket woman". Patricia Routledge is hilarious.
