There is, and I did (seeing the distinction is so important)

Oh, I also merged that thread to the one I had already started about what TV shows we've been watching lately
Anyway, back to it.

Watched Final Destination 2 last night.

Good film

In 3D ... if it needs a gimmick like 3D then I can't help but feel it'll be a tragically weak film.

Probably the best WWII movie I've seen.

Saw two movies last night:

Orphan - pretty good, a bit like the Omen but not as ridiculous. 7/10
Bruno - Definitely not as good as Borat, quite outrageous though, possibly offensive to many people, funny in places but not really a story to keep it going. 6/10

I thought Borat was crap. it was just silly and nothing else. Now, I dont have a problem with silly movies, but I do when the promo makes ít some kind of political/social satire, wihch it clearly is not.

Borat was funny in parts, but was completely stupid most of the time. Bruno I have no intentions of seeing.

Yeah but you can say that about any trailer. Most Hollywood CGI filled movies these days have trailers which are much better than the movie themselves. Quick cuts and compressing a 2 hr movie into 2 minutes does wonders.

That's because a lot of Hollywood CGI films these days are two minute trailers stretched to fill a two hour film!

Not enough that I thought Borat was bad...I also found it offensive...

If they show Bruno on free TV and I have absolutely nothing better to do and there is absolutely nothing else on TV, maybe then I will watch it...

I agree Zina, I have absolutely no interest in Borat and never have, and I won't be bothering to see Bruno either....

Last film I watched was American Beauty...

Anvil (The Story of Anvil)

Excellent movie about a forgotten metal band who ironically due to the popularity of the movie are making it back into the popular metal rock scene now.
Great stuff, very entertaining. 8/10

Alien Resurrection

definitely the weakest of the series, but still enjoyable to watch. Especially for the aliens and effects.
(there are rumours Ridley Scott will produce an Alien prequel...looking forward to that)

It was meant to be offensive, which is why it appealed to a lot of people.

Last film I saw....

Having spent the weekend decorating the kitchen, they were:

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, (the kids have been playing Lego Indiana Jones on the PS3, I was inspired - what can I say?) Contact, Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Hellboy, and Dead Poets Society.

It's been a long weekend.
