Can anyone help?? What can I buy for my friend as a 'new baby' gift? Baby (a girl) due end of next week. I've already got (clubbing with others) a basket of various baby necessities (toiletries, safety around the home stuff, blanket, teddy, cot toy, mini photo frame, plus chocs and vino for mum and dad and alsorts) but want to get her something just from me that's meaningful/thoughtful. Only I can't think of anything in that category! I considered one of those record books where you fill in as you go along, only friend too lazy to complete it! Same goes for those clay casting kits where you can create a casting of baby's foot/hand. ... So I'm stuck ... any ideas??

Sirens were screaming and the fires were howling, just up the street last night,
Four fire engines and two police cars on the scene, and a caravan burning bright!

Were you the man in the shadows with some petrol in his eye
and a match burning oh so bright?

I think you bought quite enough...BUT...silver baby spoon or rattle engraved with initials (which you may not know yet) is usually one of those memorable ones...

Try looking on e bay.
Search "baby" "new baby" "congratulations baby".

Or (just a thought here) you could get something nothing to do with baby or mummy, and get something more "friend" orientated.
Everyone else will be doing the baby thing, so something that is more of a treat to her might stand out more

But what do I know, i'm a bloke

How about a collection "things" from the day that baby is born? Newspapers, magazines, the number one single and album, best selling book etc etc that can be stored away safely for the young one to look at when it's not so young?

My thoughts:

Sad that ML had to postpone another show...and praying for Saturdays to go on.
