Paypal only protect it up to a certain amount though, I can't remember what it was. I remember a good few years ago, an ex-partner of mine (no one you know) got stung pretty hard buying a mobile phone off ebay. It was some extortionate amount of money - I know because he used my ebay account to buy it. Turned out the phone which alleged to be new was not only partially damaged but also faulty, and the IMEI number on the handset didn't match the one on the screen and according to the Nokia specialist we had to take it to, one of the IMEI numbers didn't even match the phone model - it also turned out it had water damage! The seller claimed initially any problems were caused during postage (!) but then completely disappeared. My expartner was able to claim back some of the money from paypal (thank goodness!) but not all of it so he got stung pretty bad from that one. All the same, the money from paypal was some relief!

On the topic of Ebay, my account was hacked a couple of days ago, so if you've not changed your passwords in a while go do it

Thankfully it was just a case of Ebay locking my account until I'd changed my password...they did email me to tell me but there's so much spam about that I assume it was a fake one and didn't open it
