Bart, could you be reffering to "Original Sin (Theme from The Shadow)" by Taylor Dayne? That's from the movie "The Shadow" (like, duh!), which is, AFAIK, a complete Batman rip-off...

He also produced "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You" by Mark Anthony and Tina Arena. That's from "The Mask of Zorro" and a ballad... AFAIK, he hasn't done any song for a Batman movie, although he seems to be working on Batman - The Musical.
And for Taylor Dayne's version of Original Sin, well, for the love of God I can't remember how it sounds, haven't heard it in a while... but it was nothing spectacular, otherwise I would have remembered :-) |

yeah, i meant that song: i want to spent a lifetime loving you.
I bought it at the time, cause Jim was involved, but the song is nothing special. |

I too can't stand it and almost hate it as much as Tylers danced up version of 2 out of 3...
there's many stories about 'No Matter What'. The best (and most likely to be true) is that they (meat and boyzone) were to release the song at the same time (solo releases, not a duet) and all the promotion was ready to take off when Meats Wife became ill and he went to look after her. After a hard decision, it was released only by Boyzone and made number one. It's a hidden gem that I would love to see released one day by meat as it is far too good to be a B-Side for 'Is Nothing Sacred'... But, we all know, andy Meat B-Side is better than a Boyzone A side |

But 2 outta 3 from Bonnie is just a joke. An eyewink to meat's version. I think it is meant to be ironic. The backing vocals are great bye the way and my daughter likes it.

Newbie jumping in here
I have to say I like both versions. My only problem about meat's version is he left out a great almost dare i say erotic lyric written by steinman. The lyric where about "tracing your body in the air",I loved it-It was so deep.My cousin even was struck by it and he is the FURTHERIST(not yelling) thing from BM you can get. He is more Lynryd Skynryd,Country,Heavy Metal etc.
Meat was so painful to watch in the video. He really did a great job expressing the emotions of the character. |

Ok..so I know its not cool to admit to liking her, but I think Celine Dion singing Jim's 'It's all coming back to me now' is fantastic!!! Whoever sings Jim's songs needs a powerful voice otherwise they don't work...and like her or not, Celine certainly has that.

JJ, I love that song!
IMO, when it comes to enjoying music, ANY 'combination' of artists/styles, is possible. The most important thing is it feels 'right' to you. Great day to you, Mariella |

Actually I prefer Elaine Causwel's original version of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now." I find it to be much superior to Celine's. As far as "Read Em' And Weep" goes, the producers and Barry Mannilow wanted Jim to write a new song for him, instead Jimmy gave him "Read Em' And Weep." Comparing the two versions, Meat Loaf owns this song and his is far more sexually explicit if you listen closely to the lyrics. The great thing, or atleast one of the many great things about Jimmy's unbelievable talent is that he's able to put sexual lines in love songs and most of the time the line goes over the audiences head, most notably in "For Crying Out Loud", "can't you see my faded levi's bursting apart!"

It's All Coming Back to Me is a brilliant song. However as it's reportedly Cathy singing to Heathcliffe it needs a female to sing it. Pity, as Meat would be great at it.

Haven't heard Elaine Causwell's version of Its all coming back to me now(in fact I've never heard of Elaine Causwell)....does that make me a dork?
Will have to check it out now!! Thanks! Jim refused to give Meat that song as it was meant for a girl.....but I think he would have sung it brilliantly too. |

JJ, it's on Pandora's Box Original Sin CD. Definitely superior to Celine Dion's version.

Indeed, The pandora's box version is very cool.
But Bary Manilow singing 2 out of three??? My god.. how they can destroy music.... pfff.... No techno this time... then it is a person like that who destroy it. |

It's Barry who did Read 'Em & Weep, and Bonnie Tyler who did a dance version of 2 outta 3... And while I can stand Barry's Read 'Em & Weep, I can't stand Bonnie's take on 2/3, even though Jim produced it himself... |

Thanks Sapphire!! Regarding Elaine Caswell - it suddenly dawned on me who you meant afterwards! DUH! I'm not too good with names!!
Yeah, I like Pandora's box version but still prefer Celine on this one I'm afraid....she has more expression and power as far as Im concerned...works for me...although the guitarriff is great! Just listening to Dance in my pants at the moment...oohh...go Jim go!! |
