Let's face it: remastering albums costs money. Someone needs to locate the master tapes, digitize them (which may include some elaborate restoration depending on the state of said tapes), and sprinkle magical fairy dust on them.

Back in the day, I asked Wounded Bird about bonus tracks for BBIS , and they said they were only allowed to do a no-frills reissue. Nobody seems to want to invest money in a reissue that probably won't shift that many units.

From a commercial point of view, I can't blame them.

As a fan, it's a pity, as I'd love an extended deluxe edition of Bad Attitude (including the remastered UK and US mixes, a disc of all B-sides* and a polished up DVD of Bad Attitude Live). But Sony (which both Arista and RCA are now part of) and the public at large just don't seem to care about Meat's "lesser" albums**, so it's unlikely we'll ever see them. There's a reason why low-budget labels such as Cherry Red and Wounded Bird get to do plain vanilla reissues of BA and BBIS.***

* which, if my website is to be believed, are:
Modern Girl (extended)
Take a Number
Take a Number (extended)

Nowhere Fast (single edit)
Nowhere Fast (12" version)
Clap Your Hands
Stand By Me

Surf's Up (edit)

Piece of the Action (single edit)
Piece of the Action (extended version)
Bat Out of Hell (live)
Bat Out of Hell (live - edit)
Modern Girl (US remix)

** I mean, A Meat Loaf album without the words Bat and Hell in the title? Who needs that anyway?

*** Both Bat II and Welcome to the Neighborhood are on Universal now, and they release just about anything as a deluxe edition.

Bearing in mind we only have two remasters from Dead Ringer which did sell millions a remastered Bad Attitude seems awfully unlikely.

Oh my god! They don't know it for sure. Now I don't have any regret, that I didn't buy it!
