I'm still discovering new bands, well new to me, so gimme some credit, lol. Older rock is much better than newer rock, although there are some great artists out there, who are new. I rated them best at the top. The More Stars the better.

Meat Loaf ******
Queen ******
Ozzy Osbourne *****
Aerosmith *****
Billy Joel *****
Nirvana ****
Pink Floyd *****
Elvis Presley ****
Metallica *****

I think Axl Rose in the 80's or early 90's would have been there, but lately, he has lost it slightly. Before you jump down my throat, I have been a Guns n Roses fan for ages, and I really rate Axl Rose both as a singer and a looker but his latest songs from Chinese Democracy onwards have seemed as though he has lost the ability to scream! All voices change with age, and as you know Axl had problems with his voice after years of screaming on stage, that is not to say that he is now over and done with, he is still good but in a different way, a way that is not (in my opinion) so good as he used to be.

My top ten artists or bands... in no order would be:

(Well I am not one to classify music - it's dodgy at the best of times. I just hope that this list is of what the majority of you guys would consider "Rock").

-> The Beatles
-> George Harrison
-> Alice Cooper
-> John Lennon
-> Meat Loaf
-> Talking Heads
-> Annie Lennox
-> Todd Rundgren
-> ELO / Jeff Lynne
-> Elton John

Hmmmm top 10

1. Guns N roses
2. Meat
3. Kiss
4. Iron Maiden
5. Van Halen
6. Metallica
7. AC/DC
8. The Darkness
9. Alice cooper (early stuff though, not any of that poison lark...altho that was great for his comeback)
10. Nirvana

Again though it depends on how you decide what rock n roll is, i mean many of the above bands can be put in to categories such as metal, grunge etc... so does that just make them alternative and not rock n roll?

Bon Jovi are good, id say they are kinda softrock or pop rock, im not sure. Like i said there are 2 many labels attached to music these days its terrible, i mean busted are labled as punk pop or pop punk whichever, when they are clearly just a boy band, and punk pop are bands like blink 182, bowling for soup, etc

I can't believe I missed Nirvana!
Anyway, the good name of punk (The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, The Ramones etc) is being dragged through the dirt recently, Busted and Good Charlotte punk? Pah, gimme a break.

Badger !!! How are you my furry little friend?!

I know what you mean re: 'the good name of punk'...I have to be honest, I clasify things in only 1 of three categories now: Pop, Rock, or Hip Hop...the slippery and ever-changing lines of Disco, indie, punk, heavy metal, techno, hip hop, rap, country, alternative -to name but a few!-(ha!) etc. are just far too dificult (and IMO pretentious) to navigate!!!

I know what punk feels like, and that's the only way to classify it... (and it sure don't feel like Good Charlotte or Blink 182 )
