Masculine is saved IMO by the excellent live version on the 'Objects' single. The album version is OK, but the live version, I think, is quality. I think it's really cool how Meat took a song that was relatively unheard of and, let's be honest, probably not universally like, and completely changed it; basically making it awesome.
"If you're looking for love... ohhhhhh you've come to the right place." My two least favourite songs are "Priscilla" and "You Never Can Be Too Sure...". Both very eighties and just not Meat Loaf! Rest of this album is OK, with a few gems. I didn't like Martha at first, but it grew on me. It's odd because most Meat songs are about youth etc, whereas this was completely the opposite. That was the point of the album though, was'nt it? The progression from young to old? I like 'Because of You'. There aren't many more romantic lines than; "Life is beautiful because of you." |

I think this could be true also in the case of wolf at the door, they are both musically unappealing but i like them though cos they like most ML songs they have great lyrics. I found a ML album called The Collection on a download site i wasn't crazy about the songs i hadn't heard from other albums |

Man and a woman sounds like pub rock and very bad pub rock at that, but with the dance beat that was on BBIS, a lot of songs come out like that.

When I first heard 'Do It', I thought it was the worst song ever done by Meat. Everytime it came to it on the cd i would have to skip it Then I went and saw The 'CHSIB' tour at the SECC in Glasgow and was praying he wouldn't play it!
But, it was one of the opening songs and I thought it was cool The whole opening was (anyone who saw the tour will know) I can listen to it now, but i still don't love it. |

I'll be the first to admit I like the songs from MATLAF, there are some that I can't always hear... cause personally I don't mind if alot of Meat's 80's songs aren't as BIG as the big ones are! B-)
I don't care alot for Priscilla time to time. Man And A Woman (shivers) I don't like that... and well bottom line I have to be in a mood to hear certain Meat (80s) songs. The live covers I've heard do justice... I wish there were more. There's always time for both BAT OUT OF HELL & CHSIB I think! |

Don't leave your mark on me, kinda bounces along but doesn't really go anywhere
Burning Down sounds like a 60's protest song 20 years too late Everything is permitted...not a happy song good points from the 80's albums though are Masculine, Dead Ringer, Bad Attitude, Sailor to a siren, modern girl,I'm gonna love her for both of us. |

Life Is A Lemon, I can't stand this song. I'd rather listen to the whole of Blind Before I Stop backwards before I listen to this song again through choice.

Two songs I don't like are...... Burning down. Man & A Woman (Christ that song bores me ). I'm not too keen on Night Of The Soft Parade or Special Girl either.Really have to be in the mood for those two songs And yes, I do realise that all four songs are on the BBIS album I'm not BBIS'ist, there are some great tracks on it.Fav is Standing On The Outside.Love it . As Space Monkey mentioned before about Masculine, it was much better live than on the album (although I don't mind the album version of that song).I think that's very true when it comes to that album in particular. As Meat didn't have anything to do with the post production, Frank Farian just threw it together his way .When you hear the live versions you hear them played the way Meat would have had them on the album . |

For me it has to be Why Isn't That Enough IMO it's weak and badly constructed and it's also far too much of a rip off of 2 out of 3.

You're Right, I Was Wrong is only decent. I still like it, but the vocals are the only thing that pull me through. 45 Seconds from WTTN is crap, enough said.
Razor's Edge and most of the songs from Midnight. In fact, everything besides the title track on that album is worthless, in my opinion. |
