You should have spoken to him Lucy. You couldn't meet a more charming man ... he's exactly what you would expect him to be like! He was happy to allow me to take some pictures at the book signing which are a very nice memento of the day.

I believe you're very much into touring cars. The current world champion is Guernseyman and local hero Andy Priaulx. We are all immensely proud of him.

Not quite Lucy. Andy won the 2005 inaugural World Touring Car Championship which replaced the European series.

Ex-England cricket captain Graham Gooch once told me to f__k off when I asked him for an autograph.

I stole Ex-England cricket captain Nasser Hussain's bat tape when he wasn't looking.

I've met many Watford footballers through work, I always give them stick because I'm a Luton fan.

My mum once interviewed Elton John.

I met Tom Baker in Pret a Manger in Soho.

I sat next to Craig Charles on a train from London to Harpenden.

Pete Burns told me to get out of the way in Soho, literally minutes after I met Louis Theroux.

I sat opposite the lead singer from Stereophonics (Can never remember his name) on a train from Swansea to London.

I have John Miceli's tour jacket from the Bat 2 world tour.

My great, great, grandfather worked as one of the founders of the Wesley Church. But since then less and less of us heathens have emulated our predecessors feats.

Oh as if! I don't follow either series so I was debating whether to put European or World, ended up doing 50/50! lol! He was geat in BTCC though, I remember him standing in for someone in 2001 and he ended up qualifying on pole and I think he won something too?! Great guy!

Have sort of stood on stage with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
The car was centre stage during rehearsals, and I was standing in the wings, as I worked at the theatre for a little while. The stage is all the same type flooring, so I can say I've stood on stage with the most famous and beautiful car ever!

A long long time ago when I was 18 I went to a Lionel Richie-concert, had front row seats and was asked to join Lionel for dinner after the show...ofcourse I went...but meeting my Idol-at-that-time was the single most dissapointing thing I have ever experienced...he wanted much more than dinner lol...and me, being naieve and all thought he just wanted to chat!?...well, at least I had Food lol
Nothing happened...but it made me realise meeting the ones you worship isn't always a good thing, better to keep the distance...

Question is...does this give me a claim to fame - or just makes me look silly!?

This did however happen to me twice lol...I went to another Lionel-concert when I was about 30 (8 years ago)...got the same invitation from the manager and - how naieve can a person be!? - was Sure it was because we had had dinner and he had called me lots of times after that...was sure he would remember me!?

...when I got to talk to him - it soon became clear and pretty akward for the both of us...he had absolutely no idea of who I was when he invited me...just business as usual...later he did remember - and if a black-guy can blush...he sure did lol

I sang in the Royal Albert Hall, my mum was looking after Luther Vandross' partner when she was a nurse and he came in and asked her what was wrong and all that sort of stuff. My mum's best friend was in PR and worked with Luther, Meat, Ozzy and a bunch of other people and got one of their (my mum and her friend) friends on the front cover of melody maker with Luther.
I've met Harry Hill, he allowed me to photograph his set, as he was filming near my school. I've met Blue, Chris Eubank, Frank Bruno, Sonia from Eastenders. Graham Norton...
Anthony Costa from Blue, his ex's mum had a timeshare in the same place we did and they went on holiday at the same time as us and I watch a footie match with him and his GF's little boy.

The list goes on. I'll have to think some more about the rest.

FWIIW, Keb - I think your mom has a real claim to fame for ever being in the same room with Luther Vandross!

In my mind he is the true King of soul...

Closest I ever came to meeting him was in the indoor 'garage' of the Ahoy in Rotterdam after the only concert I was ever lucky enough to see him in...he lowered the window of his car...I got to say 'Thank You' - He said you are welcome'...then the car drove off...I felt So happy to be able to expres how I felt about that performance

...still sad about his pasing away, far far too soon...a great loss!

Default Meats Roadie (our customer)!!

How about this then, one of Roys customers named Vic Bellamy was a Roadie for Meat Loaf during the Lost Boys and Golden Girls Tour, he was also present during the bottle throwing incident at Reading..

Just remembered this, went to Brighton a while ago and saw Chris Eubank trying to park that huge blue machine of his.... my sister in law and myself asked if he would sign our note, he obliged and gave us a cheery wave as he left......

Dragging up some childhood memories here.........!

When my mum was on the town council, she was introduced to the Queen Mother, and then had lunch with her at Dover Castle many years ago when she was installed as Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. I won a competition at school to go and watch the ceremony, and ended up with a better view than mum!

Mum used to type up the daily menus for the 'top' hotel in the town, and I used to go with her to deliver them during the school holidays. There were quite often famous people staying there (including the band Queen), but the band I remember best was Slade - they were soooo funny. I remember feeling rather proud when Noddy Holder chatted up my mum!!! I mean, how cool was that??!
