I love that song! It's a song which really fits to Meat's everything louder than everything else attitude!
My favourite line: "They say I'm wild and I'm reckless I should be acting my age I'm an impressionnable child in a tumultuous world And they say I'm at a difficult stage..." 9/10 |

There are so many brilliant lines in this song. Steinman at his witty, biting best. My favourite line is "If you don't worry about the future sooner or later it's the past" because I just think it is so true and so frankly honest. But there are many many other great lines in there too.
This song - and the general 'feel' of Bat II - is, I think (or at least it is to me), a big "f**k you". It's arrogant and in yer face. The character from Bat has grown older and wiser, and he doesn't like it. He's telling us we can stick the future where the sun don't shine and how he knows he'll "never be politically correct" and doesn't give a damn. That's just my opinion - I guess that's the great thing about these songs; everyone attaches their own meaning to them - but it's what I love about this song especially. I also think the title is very Meat Loaf/Steinman. Everything Louder Than Everything Else; doesn't that just sum them up perfectly?! |

Love all the lines that people have mentioned ("here...beer", "politically correct") and especially "I like my music like I like my life" - a great anthem for driving and singing loudly at parties! Just gets you going as well as appreciating the lyrics - combines the best Meat/Steinman aspects of passion, power, rebellion and irony - oh god it's too early in the morning for philosophy, shut up Pixie!

One of my Bat2 favorites, you see that itīs a typical Steinman song on the fact that youīve got 3 or more chorus-like things in htat song.
"Who am I why am I here..." "Everything louder" "A wasted youth" Somehow (just my opinion) the lyrics dont fit the recent times. I mean, in the 60īs or 70īs everybody rebelled and didnt care what others were thinking. They were proud of being political uncorrect. Today, everybody behaves so and a rebellion would be to be different than that. Somehow a rebellion against the rebellion. Dunno if anyone understands that... But the songīs just great! 8 |

my grandma slapped me for playing this song in front of her.
She apparently is offended by it, and hates Meat beacuse of it. I , on the other hand, think its decent. 8/10 |
