Something wrong in democracy!
Sorry guys... imagine you into my situation. YOU CAN'T WRITE YOUR OPINION DOWN!!! If you write a poem and put it on an internet site before it's released and somebody says he doesn't like this poem... will you delete this qute? Or vica-versa... if you'd been deleted because of this... hmmm???
That's crazy...

You're from Hungary...I am from what used to be Soviet Union...

I felt the way you feel for a while once I've joined this forum. People from Eastern European block treasure freedom of speech and democracy like no one in the world.

I am now in America...freedom of speech is supposed to be my right...but you know what? Freedom of speech as we understand it doesn't even exist here...

However...you still don't want to understand the main point here...something that it took me some time to understand but I did.

1. This is a private forum - this is not free for all.

2. This forum has rules which you can see right on the front page. They are not hidden somewhere to mislead you. It does say...read first or something to that effect. If you've read these rules and didn't agree with them - which is your right, you shouldn't have signed up as a member of this forum. Thus, you would have exercised your freedom of choice.

3. Once you have decided to sign up - if there are rules - you do have to obey them. It is true for anything in life. You can't be part of the society and be free of it. You do obey rules and laws of your country. So it is not such a huge stretch of imagination that forum might have certain rules.

4. This forum is part of the Meat Loaf fan club. So, in fact, most people here, if not all, are Meat Loaf fans. What can be more rewarding to a fan than to have their idol visiting the site and actually participating in discussions? Therefore, admins and mods of this forum are MORE conscious of the content of this forum then they might have been if ML never visited it...

5. If you still don't understand this...which you were told already numerous times...don't think anybody can help...however, I think you might be getting a message that you will not be supported by many here in your quest for so-called truth...and you willl not appear to be a martyr and/or a victim.

You were given rules...you broke them...you were punished...you served your time...you were let out and accepted back into the society...how is this different from what is going on in everyday life?

The main point is...you were accepted back into the society...make the best of it...

This is a privately owned site, it's not a democracy. To use the site you agree to abide by the (very few) rules.

The choice is yours and no-one elses, if you don't like the rules you don't use the site - simple.

And one more thing...

There is nothing wrong with democracy...there is something VERY wrong with YOUR understanding of what democracy is/supposed to be.

You're definitely confusing democracy with anarchy...

Exactly so .. and as mszee said in her earlier post mszee:
"You were given rules...you broke them...you were punished...you served your time...you were let out and accepted back into the society...how is this different from what is going on in everyday life?

The main point is...you were accepted back into the society...make the best of it..."

And please .. give it a rest!! It was more how you expressed your view than merely the view itself. You aren't seen here as some burning martyr to the cause of "free speech".

If that's how you feel .. we can't stop you, so feel it by all means .. but please don't keep waving it like a banner in here.

If you can't get over it and move on I'm sorry .. but it's not something I want to keep hearing about. Others, including myself, will have experienced things we feel unjust .. but we move on. Life's too short to keep prodding at the scars .. and scabs which are continually picked at just won't heal. Shove a plaster on yours and as mszee says .. move on ..

I'm not crazy about Land of the Pigs. I've tried hard to like it but i just don't, If i'm honest i skip past it when i'm playing the album. Absolutely the ONLY song i don't care much for. I know others think its one of the best and thats fine but its not for me.

Done!!
I think you and i both know i wont get banned for that

Actually, and I´m sure many people will yell at me now, democracy is overrated. (On the internet).
This forum IS not a democracy, that´s right, otherwise everytime when a post is edited/deleted people are banned/etc. there must have been a poll. But that didnt happen.
This forum doesnt have to decide about peoples lives, etc. so that there would be a democracy needed.
You´re just talking about freedom of speech an pluralism, that´s good and it is happening here. If your expressing your opinion IN A SUITABLE WAY, then nobody will complain. It´s the same in real life, if you go to your marketplace at 3 o clock in the morning and scream your opinion to all the sleeping people in your city and wake them up, you´ll surely get in jail.
All in all it´s just a matter of the suitable form.
right?

If i were insulting to a person in here i would expect to be banned from the place...now maybe i'm missing something but having checked the message that white of high was sposed to be banned for,to say you prefer celine dion's version is not a bad thing for me...i think i've posted before that in my opinion it's all coming back to me now is a song more suited to a woman and that's after hearing the other two versions.

I also feel the same way about original sin, there's certain song that just work for some and not for others, but to tell me i cant think that sounds a bit crazy. Yes there are terms and conditions in order to post here but can anyone honestly say that they read every single term and condition when they sign up for things online, like email accounts etc? I think the brain would explode if that's all we did.

I admire anyone who wants to try and run a place like this, i really do because it's not easy putting up with the wide range of personalities that are on here. I just think there's banning offences like the guy on the rockman board who slagged the crap out of jim steinman, while pretending to be Desmond Child and then there's opinion.

You're missing the point. You could have posted your opinions about the colour of your socks and you'd still have been banned. You broke rules, you were warned, you broke them again, you were banned. Deal with it.
