I just saw the Avatar re-release- they added about ten minutes worth of deleted scenes. It was my fourth time seeing it on the big screen in 3D (one time was IMAX- the flying scenes were beyond stunning ), but IMO, this is one movie you absolutely have to see in that format.

On DVD, I watched Beaches the other night...still requires a box of Kleenex.

Tigerland

Interesting, although I'm not a fan of Colin Farrell.

Devil
Pretty good, if a little short.

The Other Guys
Insanely funny. Mark Whalberg shouting all the time was annoying and unnecessary and the story was all over the place. But the jokes and craziness do make up for it.

Is that the film about cops ? I saw the ads and thought it looked very funny. Thanks for the review ... ...

Prince of Persia. Passable. Lead actors are very good. Annoyingly over directed (camera whizzes about everywhere). Lots of OTT ham acting and fun (ie cheesy) dialogue. But all seems a little bit... amateurish... unpolished. 3/5.

Three Kings. Saw this when it first came out many years ago, recorded it when it was on TV a little while ago and finally got round to watching it at the weekend. It's stood the test of time well. Next on the list is In Bruges.

George Clooney played me, and he's a little short really. Mark Walhberg couldn't get Karl's accent right. But Ice Cube was a deadringer for Mike!

I've tried to watch Nine...don't know if that counts...I will try to finish it as well one of these days...

The last movie I've watched left me with no desire to watch another movie ever - Valentine's Day - chock full of stars and nothing else...I kept waiting for kitchen sink to marry toilet bowl...

Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. Entertaining - Cate Blanchett is superb, Russell Crowe very good apart from the accent. Prince / King John reminds me of the lion from the Disney version - very slimy. Sheriff of Nottingham very underused and campy. All in all a good film - I reckon 3.75 / 5.

Robin Hood just seemed like Gladiator 1.5 to me, hence I never watched it.

The Hole in 3D. Meh, ok but it never gets REALLY scary which it could have been. More of a family scary movie. A bit too repetitive in places. I'd wait for DVD or TV for that one. End sequence not too bad though.

This evening I saw The Town, which is a great cops and robbers film, probably the best one since Heat. Well done Mr. Ben Afflleck! Highly recommended.

I can understand that in a sense, but somehow I've never been that bothered about movies set in the middle ages. Think I saw the Kevin Costner one once. Just find it a dull era of history and very difficult personally to connect to drama wise.

Robin Hood

bit too long for my liking (directos cut just under 3 hours)... could have done with a bit more suspense. Not particularly great movie, but not particularly bad either...
