Well if someone took over and landed it, no matter how traumatic it is, it would be better than a crash. That would minimize any chance for survivors

BA had a pretty serious incident when one of theirs engines failed, a few hundred feet off the ground, but glided to safety with minor injuries to those on board. Even if the MH 777 engines died. They were at 35000ft and could have easily glided to safety. |
