I agree and wouldn't want it on DVD, I was against all those YT clips when they emerged !

Rockpalast is a WDR series, HR doesn't have anything to do with it. I have a Rory Gallagher Rockpalast show that was recorded in Wiesbaden (i.e. within HR area), yet it was produced by WDR. The licensing is done by a distributor. It used to be Studio Hamburg, as far as I know but I don't know whether that is still the case.

A DVD of the Rockpalast show would be amazing...I was lucky enough to snag a bootleg of (I believe) the whole show a few years ago, and it's excellent.

Is this definitely confirmed then? On the way, not just a hope and a prayer?

Of course a live (through the years) anthology would be even better, but the fact that there's no Bat 1 era Meat shows available officially is a crying show and something that should be rectified immediately.

If you read the rules you will see that we don't mind bootlegs being "mentioned".
It's when bootlegs are offered for sale or trade (or even for free) that we start editing and locking stuff.

If a post crosses the line the moderators will take the appropriate action (we'll also do that with other stuff like merging threads).

Yes, that's it as I understand it.

btw, the complete bootleg without holes but with that damn annoying timer is around, though now of course you might as well wait for the pukka release.

I did once run the video through a program that removes static logos etc., but it didn't cope at all well with the timer.

There's no officially released Rockpalast concert DVD that I know of that has the timer on it. I doubt the timer will be there on the Meat Loaf one.

As Rockman demonstrates there is official footage without the timer on - just happens the only version some kind person could purloin for bootleg purposes was some rough vt edit or something that had the master timer on

there's a difference between official and officially released videos. The one on rockman is the version that aired on german tv, which, afaik, doesnt exist in a better quality. The one with the timer must be a master tape or soemthing, cause it containes more songs than the tv version. When they actually go and release it, I'm pretty sure they'll find a way to use a version without the timer.

Doesn't Meat have this type of stuff locked away in a vault or something?

With today's technology, the numbers can be removed. It would be noticable if you were looking for it, maybe
