I have seen Meat on TV and know he has some jitters . He he,I saw him on Sean Hannity and he was adorable. He did say what he thought ,politely.
I could never figure out what Sean was doing b/c all he did was end up telling him he'd not let his kids listen to Paradise. ( for Sean)
He he recall Rosy O'Donnell show,he french kissed her and she said later she had to go to therapy. LOL That would have been my favorite fantasy the rest of my life.

I read a lot of celebrity news just because those are hysterically ridiculous...I've never seen speculations like these...I know for a fact that Nigel Lithgoe is coming back but don't know if he is a judge and a producer or just a producer...rumor here has it it's somewhere between J-Lo and Jessica Simpson...

Also, all those fiings/ quittings came after Nigel announced that all judges will be fired and replaced with 3 new judges and 4 judge panel doesn't work at all...whether he meant it or not...Ellen quit right after he said it - not sure if she had other reasons for quitting...Cara should have been fired after first season in my opinion...

I'm sure in Meat's stories it must be somewhere. I read it somewhere.
Yeah, it's somewhere...apparently she kicked (I think) tour bus, while Meat was watching her departure from the window above...

The timing for Meat as an AI judge doesn't work out according to what we know of his schedule. Prelimary auditions for AI are going on know thru around the end of August. Hollywood week starts sometime after the beginning of January, around Jan 11th. They usually like to have the judges in place by then. Then the show starts airing sometime around the end of January thru May when the winner is announced. According what we know, Meat is supposed to be touring down under in OZ when the show is supposed to be airing. The speculation is fun. I do think he would be a great addition to the show. Time will tell

Yeah I remember Meat saying that too, think it was an interview or something. She thought she blew it, and she kicked the bus and Meat saw it and gave her the job because she kicked the bus.

I think Meat kept his own counsel at the time because of the very different position he has in the music business. He's a performer, under contract to a recording company, and whilst under contract has certain obligations. Cowell makes his living off performers; some might say he has made his millions and earned his celebrity status by exploiting them. Certainly he has a feel for vox populi, and seizes opportunistically on those who can bring him a quick return, imo supporting long term only those who have sufficient talent/ability to be around for longer. His talent is opportunism and making money out of riding trends in a modern music business which Meat despairs of. (Cowell makes his name by being to the talent show what Anne Robinson is to the quiz in my view.)

I agree Cowell pleases himself first and says what he likes. Imo he will say what he thinks of a performance, but phrases it in the way he thinks will have an impact in terms of the persona he likes to project. Imo Meat would say what he believes but would focus it on affecting the performer and the performance, rather than to project an image he was manufacturing. That would be his strength, but I suspect not necessarily what the producers would be looking for.

I'd be surprised if Meat were attracted to this show, given all he has said about the current trends in the music business, about Cowell, and about the way programmes like this shove newcomers into the studio and the spotlight, controlling rather than developing them .. And I know Cowell is leaving the show, but my impression is that Meat finds the fast-track routing of manufactured popstars anathema, and unless he was leaving performing behind and switching to managing and investing in the long term nurture and development of other performers, this show seems to me unlikely to appeal to him. (Imo he enjoyed Popstar to Operastar because the contestants all had an established track record in the music business, and even then seemed somewhat frustrated that the producers just wanted him to fulfill a certain role they had in mind, whereas he wanted to give useful and focused feedback. His participation in Rock Camp last year was based on coaching rather than judging groups.) The principles of the show, its raison d'etre won't change with the addition of a judge who knows what music is about, has genuine talent, and an intuitive feel for and ingrained understanding of performance skills.

Much as I love seeing Meat on any show, and agree he has the experience, knowledge and skill to bring something valuable to AI, I don't see how he could change the basic ethos of the programme without leaving performing behind and switching to a fulltime "impresario" role in an attempt to change the way the music business operates. It might well improve the business, and the lot of many new performers if he did .. but I prefer to continue enjoying his great talent as a performer, both on stage and in films :)

but since he has been complaining about the promotion of his album in the states and the state of music currently he's decided that if you can't beat em, join em?

Think Meat is far too nice to replace a Cowell. Think the nasty Englishman works much better for the format in amongst the "word up, keep it real, you got it going on dog, ya moma would be proud, That was da bomb, I’m sorry dawg, it just didn’t work for me, You could sing the phone book!". Meat was a great laugh on the Opera star show but I feel the whole judging thing is a bit beneath him to be honest. Everyone is a judge these days, even interior designers! Especially the comments from the American judges on these shows are soooo cheesy in my opinion and is pure entertainment and drained from any from of help/third party observation. Don't like Idol at all, though X factor is watchable for me as it's slightly less rushed and hectic.

Imo he'd be more likely to want to change them than join them .. and for the reasons I've given I don't see that simply being a judge would change the music business, not without becoming an impresario himself.

He'd be a wonderful and usefully constructive judge on any show of this kind .. if he were allowed to be, and not expected to play a character the producers wanted. But he'd be part of a fast-track to fame process he has spoken out against so strongly, so it would surprise me.

Xfactor and AI seem to be based on:
The huge "entertainment" of the auditions where people who should never be allowed to set foot on stage are encouraged to make asses of themselves
Allowing people like Cowell to make money through exploiting the contestants who have short-term appeal, and perhaps (at no cost or effort themselves) finding a few with some talent, who are generally treated as a commodity
Giving an opportunity to a few to enjoy a sudden, but not always lasting, fame as a popstar
Giving celebrities (with varying levels of credibilty to pass judgement/offer advice) the opportunity to earn a good fee
Continuing to enrich Cowell's bulging coffers as he conceived the shows

None of these seem to me to have a fit with Meat

and while i would agree with all of that, it's still 'the' programme to be on for artists to showcase their work or simply to remind people that they are still around.

Personally i think after making HCTB, meat doesn't need to top it in the form of anything else music related and could very easily establish himself again in films or a tv series. Lots of so called film 'stars' have come back to television and made bigger names for themselves, Kiefer Sutherland, springs to mind.

but either way I hope meat does it because he wants to and not because he feels he has to.

Now that I recall,I saw a clip of Meat on a British or Aussie show that compares to " so you think you can dance" . it was funny watching him and the others give feedback on the dancing. wish I could find that clip but it was one of those things you get when you surf youtube for Meat things and just happen to see it.

Nothing definite ... but the latest rumor I heard were Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
Then Jennifer Lopez was too demanding, so they're trying to find someone else in her place.
