Like many here I'm beyond gutted. Meat Loaf and his music was just such an inspiration to me and along with me for all my life.

The first music video I ever became aware of as a kid was I'd Do Anything For Love, the first album I knew was Bat Out Of Hell 2. My first concert was Meat Loaf in 2003. When I was in secondary school, I did my Year 9 music presentation on Meat Loaf, when I write my stories my chapters are named after his songs and albums. He's always been that one constant.

It's really horrible to think that he is gone, it's such a shock and finding the right words is tough but I guess, both he and Jim will be up there in heaven right now, making sure the Angels still have their guitars and making sure the whole place never stops rockin'

Has my previous post for some reason being deleted or am i so devastated by Meat's loss that i closed my browser and forgot to click the "Reply" button?

Meat my great hero since i was about 14 years old.. starting with I do anything for love and the re release of Bat out of hell (song) in 1993/1994..

I could say he was a wonderfull person, A larger then life singer... that he in my opinion never got the recognation he deserverd ( a part from his Bat succes) But i think everything has already been said here.

I hope his new album some how can be finished and if not i hope we wiil get a nice 4 or 5 disc music set, with B sides and 12 inch mixes and a nice bookled with pictures.

Thanx for all the great years of music
RIP and Never ever stop rocking.

Yes, but I'm not sure this is the thread to go into it, everyone at the end of the day is entitled to their opinion.

Regardless of anything else, in my opinion anyway, this thread should be somewhere to come together and pay tribute to Meat Loaf.

When she died Heaven can wait came on my random playing...my dog died soon after, same song...
2/3 was just ending yesterday as I heard the news via a text....Guess what played next?!!! Not a dry eye in that car is all I can say

Thanks meat for the shows, and films and meeting you several times is something I will always cherish

To say i'm still in shock is an understatement. I have so many wonderful memories of seeing and meeting him, from the first time at Hammersmith with my cousin Gary, where we had to get my mum and dad to come pick us up because we'd only got a one way bus ticket, to the time at a CD signing where I asked him to speak to my daughter Charlotte on the phone and despite his "minders" saying no, he very graciously did.

So many concerts, from Hammersmith, Wembley, Hyde Park, the 02 and the Royal Albert Hall and many more, it has been one heck of a ride.

Seeing Bat out of Hell the musical bought Jim's songs together in a way that made total sense and the brilliance of the song-writing, telling the story through the songs we all knew and loved, was beyond compare.

His last performances on the Mike Huckabee show were amazing, he sounded better than he had done in years and from his posts on Facebook late last year, he was looking to record a new album, whether he had laid any tracks down, only time will tell.

Yesterday was his daughter Amanda's birthday and she posted some wonderful pictures of them on Instagram.

I can't choose my favourite song because there are so many from the one's everyone knows to lesser ones that are still gems. Thank you for leaving us with your music and your film and television performances.

This was the first song that I listened to after I had heard the news yesterday and I think it's fitting to add it here.

Mr Aday, Meat Loaf, we will never ever EVER stop rockin'

Some mostly touring memories of Meat as told by none other than Steve Buslowe, who we haven't heard from in years as far as I know. (We have his nephew to thank for this interview it seems!)

Just a great farewell.

Absolutely lovely!

One of the few tributes that have genuinely made me tear up over the last few days.

Thanks for sharing.
