While not entirely on topic, i just stopped reading a book and put my bookmark in it only to remember its a MLUKFC one :P - has the address labelled Thirsk - so it's fairly old now :P

I love little things like that :P I'm sure Diane and R and a good few other people have them around too - but it's cool

I had to go up in my loft today and because of this stupid thread I couldn’t just go past the box with all my old vinyl records in it without having a little count. Because the number was higher than ten I had to steal my son’s abacus. Apparently when I was younger I used to have a bit of an obsession which may account for the 164 Meatloaf/Steinman vinyl records I have. Now if you think I am going to sit and itemise each and ever item you can think again. But i did spend nearly an hour up there reading through the 36 concert programmes I’ve got

Now all I have got to do is remember what I went up into the bloody loft for in the first place...

Last year (could've been the year before) I was lucky enough to get hold of an extremely rare promo version of the theme tune for the short lived TV show The Delta House, which was written by Steinman and then became the music for Dead Ringer For Love. You can listen to it on Smeghead's realmofdreams site or click HERE instead.

When I was in my teens, I went through a phase of collecting Meat Loaf shaped picture discs.

Rock'n'Roll Mercenaries (white with UK flag guitar)
Rock'n'Roll Mercenaries (black with US flag guitar)
Modern Girl
Nowhere Fast
Piece Of The Action
Getting Away With Murder

I'm not sure what other shaped picture discs there are of Meat Loaf apart from round ones

The discs will look fantastic framed, but I can't justify the spending for 30 custom made frames for all my other stuff as well to Mrs Pud

You found the BFG vinyl in Oxfam as well as Bat?!?! And I thought I did well finding Hits in Oxfam, Bat in Children's Society, and Dead Ringer single in Barnardos over a two week period!
I was lucky to find the BFG CD in newcastle a few years ago: me and Mam had went there shopping for Christmas presents, as their shops are bigger than the ones in Sunderland, so logically they should have more variety of products, and once you've navigated your way around the shops to the Rock/Pop section, should be rather easy to find. How wrong we were! A 3 floor HMV didn't have one, neither did Virgin, WHSmith or music Zone, so we ended up at this shop we'd started at but I didn't bother looking in as their CDs cos they only have a small number. Of course, when we asked the girl if they had it, she said
"Jim Steinman? You don't find many of those around!" (you're telling us?!)and she went and looked in a completely different place to where I was and found it!
A little while later I looked in the tiny Sunderland shops and found three copies of BFG spread between HMV and MZ!

Anyway!............So you have the BFG vinyl?! I am so jealous but happy for you at the same time!

The Bad For Good vinyl isn't anything special or rare and can be found quite easily, I stumbled across 2 copies over here in NZ in the past month. The one's you want to get though is the Bad For Good picture disc and the Bad For Good blue vinyl LP, which pops up on Ebay now and again.

Collectors old or new should check out THIS Ebay listing, it's a good deal

And THIS Ebay listing for a great deal

Wow, those are great, thanks!
I guess they just seem rare to me as there isn't really a proper whereabouts to find vinyls other than charity shops, and you just have to be there a couple of days after someone decides to donate their old albums and singles, and hunt through them all until you find what you're looking for or get a complete surprise. It seems to give me more sense of satisfaction than going on ebay and fighting it out with other bidders. I've only started looking the past couple of weeks, and even then only in the Lake District and my home city; I may get through to Durham or maybe even Newcastle and raid their shops before I go back to university!
