Bit of a sad day here i'm afraid
As per routine, I went on the food run to the burger bar after work last night while Graham and Lol cashed up the tills and stuff. Gets back to the pub, Graham opens the door and tells me the police are there I tell him to stop messing about, and he says that he is not joking, and that Norman, one of our customers, died in the taxi home from the cuckoo, and the police had come back to the pub to try and get some details Weird thought to think I was drinking with him about an hour before he died Lol called James, who knew Norman better than anyone else, and he turned up shortly after to talk to the police concerning next of kin. Needless to say, the food was left to go cold, and once the police sodded off the toasts began in earnest. Shame, Norman was a really nice fella. Gonna miss not seeing him at the end of the bar |

Well, he died in the taxi, and the driver didn't know he was dead until they reached the destination and tried to wake him up, so it sounds like it was a very easy passing.
Small consolation, but we should all be so lucky to go that easy. It's gonna be weird not seeing him at the bar tonight Think i'll finish tonights gig with a bit of "My Way" dedicated to him. |
