Couldn't agree more. Fortunately society is changing and people are beginning to realise that. I think Michelle winning pop idol is a good thing because she's broken the mould. Now others might realise that people don't need to be thin to succeed in anything. As long as a person has talent, who cares what they look like.
lets hope it continues - we larger than life individuals have a lot to offer - just because we are bigger than the norm - does not mean we are less intelligent

Rock on everyone - large - small - indifferent

According to the News of the World 21st December 2004:-

Battle of the giants is over

Rocker Meat Loaf made his peace with Pop Idol's Michelle McManus by sending her good luck flowers.

Just out of interest, did anyone see a small article that had very selective quoting about this? As mentioned in this thread Meat responded saying he was a sexy god at 70lb and that Michelle wishes she was. I can't remember what tabloid it was but I saw one of them had a piece about how Meat had attacked Michelle, and how after hearing Cowell had compared them he said there was no way as he had sex appeal and she didn't. They failed to mention that she made a comment first and he was responding.

Is anyone else sick of tabloids stirring stuff up and just trying to cause aggrevation? It really annoys me that people make a living, and a lot of money, out of trying to disrupt peoples lives.

Sorry, a little rant there!

Default Meat vs Michelle?

I hadn't heard anything about the two at loggerheads other that what I saw on AOL that I quoted above. I had heard a few folk say to me recently that Michelle and Meat never actually insulted each other. Michelle had said something about tabloids making things up about her that weren't true. Who knows.... I know tabloids just make things up to sell papers but I didn't think AOL were bad for it.

Lord .. is anyone not? Meat responded on stage to a big article in the Mirror .. and did this with humour after all .. much of what he said was true .. and saying about her being compared to him "in your dreams!!" was funny .. as was his saying "Put me in a dress and I'D look better!" :)

As you say .. the tabloids just like stirring things up .. why let a story get spoiled by the truth? Anyway .. his appearances as Dame in two ROL pantomimes show he DOES look better in a dress Patti thought he looked wonderful in Cinderella ..

I am sure I read from Fireball himself that The Mirror article was something he and they did together, and yes, he did say he had set her flowers and wished her luck.

Tried the search function and I must be doing something wrong, as no posts for Fireball came up - help anyone?

Heather.
