very interesting to see the different opinions here...
for example, I would put Martha in the upper third of all songs. |

It's all relative anyway ... even though I think Why Isn't That Enough is Meat's "worst" song, it still to me rates above 99% of the other stuff that's out there by other artists, all it means is that I like his other songs more than I like that one

WITE is a very very good song.
I like Do it! Left in the dark is also fine. I like 45 seconds, It makes me laugh. I like (almost) every song on BBIS. I hate Midnite and Bat 3 so there are mine worst Meatsongs ever. |

I am not suggesting what songs Meat likes or dislikes, you asked what interview it was and I merely passed on the information. Meat always passionately sings every song he performs, even songs he may not like. I don’t know were you can find this interview now but it was right after midnight was released and yes maybe he has changed his mind now mindnick |

didnt he say once, that they put YTTWROOMM just on BOOH to make it sell better, to make it more mainstream-like? Cant remember where I read/heard that...

Dunno if he said that but would certainly make sense to do that....BOOH was very much stage music, and as Todd said on Classic Albums, you pull YTTWROOMM apart and you've got an Eagles song, which certainly would have sold better than theatre music...
Have to say, Meat not liking a song certainly wouldn't affect his performance - people who have paid to see a show (any show, not just Meat) can't be expected to be a song/scene/whatever that's dull with no passion just because the artist doesn't like it, and Meat's a great example of someone who wouldn't do that |

And to get back on topic...
I reckon my "worst" song would probably be something like Never Can Be Too Sure About The Girl, definitely something form that era |

but theres surely a difference in the performance between songs he likes and dislikes. For example, I think the performance of Objects one of the most passionate, and not at least because he likes the song.

Objects is a difficult one to judge by though as we know the emotion and the history that comes with that particular track...I'd imagine that psychologically there'll be a difference but I don't think there's a difference on stage that's clear to see..

Meat 's said time and time again that his aim to to perform every concert at this peak, and he's not happy if he feels he's let people down. Some songs he may find harder to perform at that level than others, that's probably true but; Meat being the professional "heart on his sleeve" performer that he is, I really can't see him adding a song to a set list that he felt he couldn't give 100% to.

But dont you think that he performs a song he really enjoys in a different way than a song he doesnt really care about?

Perhaps, but that's my point, I don't think Meat would perform a song he doesn't really care about.

not necessarily. Some songs are just DEMANDED by the fans, like AFL or BOOH. I'm not saying that he dislikes them, but if he'd do, he'd still "have to" perform them, though he doesnt like them.
