Interesting thought. I think the riff rather sounds like Led Zep's Kashmir. Puff Daddy used it for the Godzilla soundtrack, so in both cases a monster is involved. (By the way, Puff Daddy's Come With Me and Meat Loaf's Monster both have "softer" middle parts that are similar to each other. It might be a coincidence, I think it's interesting.)

I've never noticed that before but you're right. The music in the part when Meat starts to sing "I'm not afraid of..." sounds indeed like Kashmir.

Thanks, been racking my brains trying to think of where I've heard it before and indeed it's Puff Daddy's Come With Me from Godzilla.

Hmm...I thought the topic was about Meat's tweets. The tweet referenced above was Randy's groovin' tweet. Which could be a recording, which could resemble that of Kashmir or BAAB. I've moved on from Brian May as I'm not sure about his contribution to this work. Finally, last I checked, the tweets do not indicate a banjo. So that piece of equipment is off topic.

From Brian May's blog:-
Quote:
But I can probably mention that I played a small solo for Meat .... and ... the mighty John Miceli tracked some incredible drums, for a couple of new songs we're working on for the Kerry Ellis album. It's sounding amazing.
So sounds like there's at least a little involvement from Brian on a song on the new album. Certainly sounds like everyone is doing plenty there!!

I think you'll find what you need here.

You may get 45 seconds of ecstasy (banjo time), buy the album and search for a banjo. If there is one in there I'm sure banjo fans will find it.

YouTube Video

A long Twitter with lots of info.
7 weeks of tracking...15 songs done, lots of writers on this album.
Some potential song titles: "If it's raining...", "If I can't Find You"
Not sure I got all these names right:
James Michael
Rick Brantley
Greg Bekker
Kevin Curtis
Jon Bon Jovi
Tom Handbridge
Shawn Mcconnell
Jaron Johnston
Kara Dioguardi (such a honey )

Suppossed to be a double/triple album??? Meat is probably mocking us...

Sounds great none the less!

Oh ehh... almost forgot... Get well soon Meat!

Meat is the man! Heh. He was mocking us about a triple CD heh
It's nice to see a tweeter like this. I can promise ya this... if the songs are great. Many of us wouldn't mind a double disc Meat Loaf record. There's never been one so far.

Hey Meat, I'm just curious is there anyway you can film around where you were sitting. It looks cool over there! :P

Lots of info on this last tweet is right. However for those with music production knowledge, can anyone please explain what exactly "tracking" means? Does it mean just the music is done, or does it mean the music and lyrics are done? Then what's the next step after tracking? I'm stirring it around as he's said in the last part of the tweet. But now it opened up a whole new can of worms. Thanks for your knowledge in advance.

Feel better Meat!

Very informative video, I'm curious how the new album will sound and whether it will have its own style in spite of the numerous songwriters.

I hope he'll get better soon.

Watch out... (although Meat doing a Billy Joel song would be cool)

This will be a very different record. For I, more exciting than 05,06. 2009, has me on the brink of my seat. I'm far flung with wonder. Wow!

My life goes on, smartasses babybat and I are expecting a baby late December, early January. Wow!

Like most people now I'll be finding out who the f*ck half of the songwriters are and what they've done. So no Diane Warren or maybe there is Diane Warren and Meat purposely chose not to mention her

As for the album being different, of course it's going to be different, it has different songs on it that Meat hasn't sung before, how different do you want it

It means all the different instuments and vocals have been recorded, they just need fitting together properly and the sound tweaking, this is the bit where the producer earns their pay the songs sound very very coarse right now and little mistakes might show.

Well Adam Lambert was also there also recording, and i reckon he would be singing the kind of songs she writes so might have just been a coincidence.

Rob Cavallo is a record producer who'll have several fingers in several pies all at once, just because you saw Adam Lambert doesn't mean he has anything to do with Meats album. Equally though I didn't hear Justin Hawkins name mentioned.
