I hope that, too. It's time for some rock 'n' roll.

Can't believe I'm in accord with Evil One. I've really tried hard to like Star Wars, but I get a glazed over look to my eyes when it's on. However, I agree with Dave's ears and his take on how things are heard. Strange looks all around then, huh?

Both ears like the same things equally, and there is nothing "wrong" with them. They just know what they like. May not be what you like, but that is okay.

Let me say that I consider myself to be a Meat Loaf fan, a Jim Steinman fan, as well as a fan of the work that Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman have created together. However, and I realize I am in the minority here, my favorite Meat Loaf songs - the ones I find myself turning to over and over again - tend to be newer songs in his cataloge that were not written by Jim Steinman. However (again); I do appreciate the work Meat Loaf has done with Jim Steinman over the years. To me, the song Couldn't Have Said It Better ressonates more with my ear and with my soul than I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do that). I know there are a lot of people who do not like the song Do It, but I found it to be a nice new sound for a Meat Loaf album. Yes, the lyrics are quite difficult to wade through, but it works (at least to me). I find that upon listening to the Bat Out Of Hell II album, I am left wtih the feeling that Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere) and Everything Louder Than Everything Else and It Just Won't Quit [**side note, one of my fave songs of all time] all sound relatively similar to my ear. Personally, I like the vastly different sounds (again to my ear) we are provided by having multiple songwriters on the Welcome To The Neighborhood and Couldn't Have Said It Better projects.

I am so excited about this upcoming project, due to the multiple song writers working on the projects and due to the idea that Meat Loaf is taking on a new, more powerful and more hard rocking sound on this album. I personally hope that this really is an album meant to be listened to loud, in your car, and with the windows rolled down! One of my favorite live Meat Loaf experiences was the shortened version of I'd Do Anything For Love from the Hair Of The Dog tour, when the song just rocked. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing like a Meat Loaf power ballad, but I personally think that an album that just thrashes from start to finish would be amazing.

Looking forward to what this new adventure (album) has to offer Meat Loaf fans everywhere and hoping any new ventures in the way Meat Loaf sounds will bring even more fans into the mix!!!

Dave
I agree with most of what you've said, although Anything For Love is one of my favourite songs by Meat. I really love the CHSIB & WTTN albums as well, and think they are among Meat's best. While I love the stuff he does with Steinman, the songs he's done by other songwriters have been excellent as well. I tend to listen to his newer stuff more as well and really can't wait for the new album to come out.

There's Star Wars and Star Wars isn't there, the first three that were made of course being the ones that deserve no eye rolling at all and the more recent "prequels" deserving varying elements of eye rolling and tutting. Of course the original spawned the Family Guy parody which is a cartoon classic.

I've never seen Star Wars ... but I've watched the Family Guy parady several times and love it

If that happens I'll eat my hat.

What sort of hat will you be buying?

I agree though, it will be very hard to top Bat 1 and 2.

Art is the opposite of War...war is a contest of good versus evil....why do people look to "better" when it comes to art. Art is about enjoyment of what is presented, not about a competition....I prefer to leave the competition on the battlefield.

Make sure you buy a tasty one then. I'm not taking anything away from his previous albums, which have been brilliant, but I feel the way Meat has been more relaxed and seems to be really enjoying himself this time, it will show in the finished product.

I'm sure it will, but it'll take more than Meat feeling relaxed to top Bat 1 or 2.

Would that possibly be a ten gallon hat?

I think it will be great either way because I believe it may be totally different from the Bat series. No matter what he always puts his all into it.
