Well I bought the DVD here in, NB Canada. And I'm really disapointed.
It's missing Johnny B. Goode and River Deep Mountain High. I couldn't care less about the picture. Because even if it weren't all fixed up I would have enjoyed it. But my problem is with the audio. Sometimes the guitar is so low. That's all I've noticed so far. Damn, this easily could have been given a 5 star rating. Well hope what's to come is much better. |

Perhaps he should write an angry letter to Eagle Rock to tell them that the DVD he bought doesn't meet his high standards?

1000 whispers would be more appropriate than one angry letter from RSG. Frankly I'm too polite, haha. |

Santa was nice to me this year and I received my DVD Christmas Day. I had a chance to watch it last night. I really enjoyed it. Sometimes it's real nice to go back and be nostalgic. Of course I found myself singing along at times, as I was fixated on the stage presence that holds me dear to those songs. A nice addition to my ever expanding Meat collection.

I got my copy at WalMart and thankfully only paid $9.99, as it was missing Johnny B. Goode and River Deep, Mountain High. The product is what it is. I think Meat Loaf's performance style and voice is far superior now to what it was back then. He was young and has learned so much during his time on stage. I would much prefer seeing more recent performances released on DVD.

All I can assume is Meat is saving it all up as a retirement plan.

I finally picked this up for a fiver! For what I paid I have no issues. Had I paid full price I might be more disappointed. Picture is much better than I was expecting but audio is merely ok. If anyone was planning on ripping the audio for their mp3 player or car CD player then forget it, it will suck!

It's a pointless task. There are much better recordings from the Bat 1 tour out there.

To make a perfect Bat 1 tour CD to substitute rockpalast: Just find this cd called "Hot as Hell' if you want great quality versions of RDMH and JBG. Plus the Cd has a great version of took the words. i really dont mind Meat's rough voice. it makes it sound more live IMO. i prefer it to the voice he had on 3 Bats Live. Or probably the prefered show is Nassau Coll. Last edited by AndyK; 02 Feb 2010 at 11:32. Reason: Bootleg reference removed. |

I finally bought this today and watched it earlier, it's a great concert. Couldn't pick a best bit but Paradise was fun.
Love the Meat and Jim interview, Meat's a hoot as always . |

I picked this up last week.
Have to admit I've known the show from several sources for a long time, but to see it in proper quality is something completely different. For example, due to the bad quality of the floating bootlegs I've always thought this was recorded in a small club. Was quite surprised when I noticed this was actually filmed in a concert hall/arena. Have to say I'm very happy that we've got an official release from such a historic Meat Loaf tour. I believe even in decades fans will look back, and be able to pick this one as the "pure Meat Loaf experience". So far the closest to that was the MIA VHS from Wembley 82. Gotta say this one is much more intimate in camerawork and editing (cant really explain why). It's a real treat for those of us who werent around those early tours. We'll never get closer to actually seeing a 70s Meat Loaf concert than with this DVD. |
