I'm sure it's possible to edit Bohemian Rhapsody too, but it wouldn't be as EFFECTIVE as the FULL VERSION. |

Are you serious? Why don't you like me?
I know at the back of it all you like me a small bit. I'm sure you wouldn't like to see anything bad happening to me, and hope I do well in life. Anyway as the moderators would say "back on topic". I have a question and I might aswell ask it in this thread; which single do you think should never have been released? Mine would be "Is Nothing Scared", I didn't like "Man of Steel", either. |

"Is Nothing Sacred" was a hit in the UK. I think INS reached #15 and Man of Steel reached #21.

Both songs are a little too schmaltzy for my liking and made me almost forget about the rock singer Meat Loaf. Unfortunately, most of Meat's ballads after Bat II / WTTN have been like that. They lack the power of the Steinman ballads.
They should have released Testify as a single instead of Man Of Steel. |

Trouble is, most of Meat's more successful tracks have been ballads so record companies appear to stick with what they know.
I'm referring to: AFL, ILFY, NADEITH, INS, IACBTMN The public tend to recognise Meat for his ballads and BOOH. |

I have no issue with ballads in general, I'm just not very keen on the ones that try to sound overly sappy.

Man Of Steel was just 'fine' for me, didn't have a massive opinion either way on that one. Is Nothing Sacred was fabulous, Meat and Patti did such a great job with that

I actually thought they should have released one of the covers from CHSIB, either "Forever Young" or "Mercury Blues", both were fantastic in my opinion, and radio friendly.
I agree with Wario "Cry Over Me", was another poor single choice, considering some of the other songs that were better, and weren't released. But I do listen to "Cry Over Me" from time to time. |

yeah but its all coming back to me charted quite well around europe. uk = 6 , ger = 7 , nor = 1 , etc etc,, so they probably got that right. not saying it was a fans fav or anything, but it did its job. and cry over me was released 8 months after the album, i like the song myself, but i know others dont.

It probably did well in the UK and Germany because Meat is quite popular there. No. 1 in Norway was due to Marion Raven, I guess. I doubt that it was because of the song. It was rather because of the people who sang it, in my opinion.

Agreed. Bat 3 had quite a big marketing campaign to begin with and there was quite some hype. The RAH concert helped I'm sure and there were great reviews on it on the radio etc. I'm sure that helped to push the single to a reasonable spot in the UK charts. Had it been a more exciting song of the album as many of us pointed out it would have charted longer I reckon or perhaps even higher.
