Not really. The crowd had paid good money to watch semi-naked men grapple each other, not listen to a wrestler being serenaded.

What I didn't understand is why Meat decided to sing "I can barely fit my ... " bit over and over again. Who is going to understand what the hell is going on when he is singing that unless you have listened to the song. Why not do Los Angeloser.

yeah that was a bit of a strange one for me as well.

it's funny, a couple of years ago he would've got away with singing the full line as part of the 'attitude era' but now with them so keen to tap into the PG market he couldn't.

The segment started well but the choice of songs (the beginning of Elvis in Vegas seemed to be an eternity) for it meant it was going downhill fast and that's why the crowd started to boo it. They wanted to get back to a wrestling related theme and it quite cleary wasn't that for them.

Ironically the best thing that Meat could take from that was being RKO'd as that was what was featured for the next few days around wwe.com, the replays during the show and on many different wrestling websites.

No such thing as bad publicity in that instance.

Not true. As the publicity Meat got from that segment didn't equal record sales So either the viewers didn't like what they saw and was turned off by the songs Meat was singing, or they thought Meat was a joke and got turned off from whatever the hell he was trying to sell. Had Meat been a proper guest host, then I think the publicity for the album could have been tweaked appropriately and well have worked in his favour.

Couldn't agree more.
