Even more important that that...he introduced us all to Mrs. Miller!!! That was a remarkable project that would (sadly) never see the light of day nowadays.

ok i'm not really sure what i can add here as its kinda situation that the horse has bolted kinda thing lol

But i had to fly out very early the next day to see Marya Roxx in Prague so didnt have time to post anything.

but i will give my two cents anyway, i wont say what happened that day as i'm pretty sure thats been covered to it's death lol

It was an awesome day, well it was an awesome couple of days before that actually lol Since we found out we were going, the excitement was true and thrilling

The album..... well i went not knowing what to expect at all except the small clips we have been able to see before on the net, and Los Angeloser on the radio which i'll get stoned for saying this but it didnt grab me straight away, i couldnt put my finger on it, i was excited about this new sound but it just didnt grab me how the other clips had. However, when i heard it in it's place on the album it was actually pretty cool

So we get in and hear the album from start to finish... the power of the first song grabbed me and brought me in straight away, it felt like you were in the middle of a musical warzone and all you could do was let yourself be taken and immersed by all these awesome and interesting sounds. As we move on through the songs, i kept thinking how simple but very powerful each song was, as each song finished you werent allowed to rest on your laurels, you were instantly grabbed by the next song and taken where this wanted you to go, only one song didnt do too much for me but i can see where it fits in the whole album and it's definately not one i would skip when listening, i'm pretty sure after a few listens i will like this one too. The duets are great and i especially loved the one with Kara. I was a little disappointed there wasn't a duet with Pearl, but i am relieved to hear there will be one somewhere in the future My overriding feeling as we came away was i love those drums lol i love my rock hard, the louder the drum, the heavier the guitar, the better as far as i'm concerned! And there was plenty of this This album proves to those who think of ballads first when they think of Meat that he is a rocker, that's how i've always thought of him so i am over the moon to have a whole album that shows this side of him off so well, and it really does!

Fresh Meat with enough of the old Meat sound that we are used to. But seriously guys be prepared for something completely different to what you're expecting, when you get it, open your mind and try to temporarily blank your memory of all those awesome albums before this, only then will you truly appreciate how many levels this album works on, try to compare it and you'll only confuse yourself and miss out on the amazing ride this album will take you on!

This album will make you sad, happy, shocked and it will even make you laugh at some point, i for one have listened to only a couple of albums that have managed to have that effect on me!

I'm thankful for the opportunity to hear this album so soon, i am now counting down till it arrives and i can deafen the kids with it lol

In today's music world there would be no Pink Floyd, David Bowie, etc. they made whole albums.
m
well i agree with you 99%

There is maybe only one plus side to the download era.

For those true fans of music who are willing to search for those great bands who do know who they are and are doing quite nicely without a record company taking their money, the download sites offer a way to get the music to the fans who can't go to their gig to pick up a cd in person.
It's taken the control of what we listen to away from the record companies and given us freedom (if we chose to use it) to find the lesser known bands who are out there grafting and have a following but no other means of distribution than their gigs and places like itunes.

I agree with you though about the state of the music business, when i was younger i knew i could go and buy the latest album of any of the artists i followed with full confidence that i would love 90% of it. Now, i can't really say i follow any new bands as such, i just find their best songs. So who's fault is it that artists don't make whole albums anymore?? Record companies thinking they have a formula for good sales? Haven't they always done that?
With the advent of the preview (listen to a clip) of each individual song on an album combined with the ability to buy select songs instead of the whole album, i would've expected the opposite to happen, as fans are no longer subjected to buying an album in good faith and getting home to be bitterly disappointed by spending their hard earned cash on a cd where they only like a couple of songs.
The format of downloads though is cheap trash, and sounds terrible when compared to cd format so when i find someone i like it's always still cd's.
Unfortunately these days it all seems to be gimmicks, smoke and mirrors. Even more reason for music fans to be a little more pro active in searching for good music.

So yes this is a bad thing for the music industry and it's artists with contracts to fulfill and pay for, but a good thing for those smaller bands who just want to make music and arent really interested in the fame game or the cogs of promotion and long tours.
Finding a way of stopping the filesharing and free downloads would be a start for this business to repair itself.

Do expect to hear many of Meats trademarks on HCTB IV -
Do not expect the sum of it to sound like anything before.

Do expect much agressive, guitar-driven rock -
Do not expect common song structures.

April 16th - Germany is 3 days early with HCTB. If not a native, I would beg, steal or borrow to be there.
