Patti on Snocap?
I was wondering, was Patti was selling some of her songs on snocap a while back and if so, how can I buy them?
I've bought her single of itunes months ago, but I am sure someone on here said she was on snocap. Any thoughts? Ross |

SNOCAP is a place where you let your fans buy directly from your SNOCAP MyStore. ie: your able to put it on your myspace page or website and let people directly buy mp3s at the price you set it.
An alternate to something like itunes etc.... But a official Cd, and hopefully she gets a record contract would be FABULOUS!!! |

Patti's Blog Update
Snocap pops up on her myspace page directly under her myspace player. She has 10 songs available to purchase: "Ballerina", "Fight", "Fight" reanimated, "Feels Like Home", "Here We Are", "How Long", "Madeline", "One Door Opens", "Silly Girl", and "Take Good Care of My Heart". Each song costs $0.99 (US). "Bible and a Beer" is not available for purchase on her snocap, so maybe she is saving that for a possible future album.
On another note, Patti updated her blog on her myspace about the current tour and the reasons she has been absent the past 2 years. Here's the link: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=411164835 Last edited by Steingirl; 02 Jul 2008 at 22:24. |

I'd really like to support Patti by buying some music from her, but why does it always have to be this difficult?
First: iTunes. I don't do iTunes, as I don't want to install a program just to get some music in a (imo) unusuable format (my mp3-player doesn't do aac), transcoding isn't an option, and I don't want any DRM infested files on my PC, nor a program that (used to) heavily rely on that. And let's be honest here, Apple is just as evil as Microsoft, only is their evil much slicker. Now: Snocap. As their FAQ and terms of use state, this store is only available in the US. Which is probably why I can't get through their payment system. Nowhere on their site can I find anything about bitrates, DRM or other technical info. So, basically, since I can't legally buy high-quality, DRM free files from a website, the only thing that's left for me to do, is poke around a bit, and get some low quality mp3-files directly from myspace. Which is a shame, as I'd really like to do the right thing here, and support Patti. |

Would be nice to see more vinyl about though
Don't think the market is there though to justify the creation of a disc. I was over the moon when they released Bat III on vinyl. Surely though, it can't be THAT much of a problem for Patti's people to put her songs on CD themselves and sell them mail order. |

Bring back? You mean it's gone then? The most recent album I got on vinyl was released this year.
Seriously though, I can understand why (independent) artists may prefer selling mp3s through the internet (low overhead costs, no ties that bind), but I just prefer a hard copy. But when none's available, I might settle for some high quality downloads. Mindawn, for example, is a a great service. Lossless audio files, no DRM, and reasonably priced. |

Theres Mindawn aswell as the services I use:
Indie Store - run by 7Digital, for unsigned artists Music Zeit - offers FLAC and MP3 Sales. They are amongst others out there.... Mind you though I do like hard copies aswell. But I have to say, most people prefer selling their music online becuase more music sells online nowerdays plus it saves the expenses or either duplication or replication (depends how many copies you get produced) along with artwork! I'll be having hard copies made though Ross |

Exactly how does Snocap work? Can you make your own cd of the songs?
Patti definitely needs to put out a cd. Her songs are wonderful.

There's nothing wrong with age!! In the industry, I do believe that as long you have a voice that can sell and an image (Pati has it all!), then that's all that matters.... Record Labels are only into make money, as we've witnessed.

Judging from what's in the charts today, I'd say she's just too good. I don't know what the actual reason is, maybe she hasn't been given the chance to do a solo record, maybe she has other preferences?
If there was a Patti Russo CD, I'm sure I'd buy it, if she did solo shows I'd probably buy a ticket. It was great to hear her sing an entire song on her own during Meat's last tour. I'm sure everybody here appreciates her but what about the masses? There is another Patti who has a distinctive voice and who has released albums that got very positive reviews, yet they weren't very sucessful. I'm talking about Bruce Springsteen's wife Patti Scialfa. Anyway, if you're really keen on pursuing a consistent, successful solo career, you can make it but that usually takes time, patience and proper promo. You'd probably have to change some of your priorities - which might be risky. It also takes someone who's willing to establish a particular artist. It seems as if many record labels nowadays play it safe and rather sell something else than voice and charisma. |

How many 40+ solo artists that's just starting out get a record deal? Unless Patti does one of them God awful talent shows, which she wouldn't be able to do anyway because of the age limit (American Idol age limit is 2 then a record company aint going to touch her.
I'd love to see Patti going on the road with a few members of NLE doing their own gigs. |
