Default X Factor does Meat Loaf ... again

this is WORSE THEN WAGNER. Cause where Wagner was fun to watch at least and had the performance aspect down, this guy demolished this track to death last night:

Please take it away; my face is bleeding.

EDIT: I wonder if this is on Todd Rundgren's new album

Didn't like him or his vocal but, and I'm getting ready to duck, I thought the remix was pretty good and cleverly done.

I know you'll hate me for it but I didn't think it was that bad actually. I hate X Factor though.

Guys, its a talent show the guy did his best, why critiscise him? Arent we all upset with what critiscism has done to Meat over the past few weeks. ?

Can't we learn tolerance and at least that everyone is human and has feelings?

As only my 4th post on this site , with my 2nd being critiscised wrongly, by several members that I had posted personal details on here, Had the time been taken to fully read my post All would have been clear. I would just like to point out before we speak, we should think about the consequences of our words.

Personally, I am happy if someone does a cover our an interpretation of one of Meat's songs, it just makes me go and dig out all my CD's and have a listen to the original, and just confirms to me that Meat is the Man!!

Cheers

Apparently not. And I agree with you. I don't like or watch X-Factor, but this lad doesn't strike me as being better or worse than most, and he wasn't trying to copy Meat, or give a ML inspired interpretation. He simply sang a song that was written by Jim Steinman. I guess some might be offended at a pop interpretation of a Steinman song, but as far as I'm aware these kids have limited input into the songs chosen and how they're to be performed.

He didn't attempt to perform a "track" .. he performed a song composed by Steinman. It wasn't great .. but it wasn't the worst thing ever done to Steinman in history. I shudder much more at really bad Meat tributes .. lol And I always think when someone sings a song Meat's recorded .. it may remind someone to dig out their CD and listen to it performed by a master :)

Oh, and welcome :) I had a moment's concern when I read the post you're referring to, then checked again and saw exactly what you'd posted and understood your intentions :)

Not my taste but this was so much better than what the Wagner guy did. It's a complete different take on the song which you can like or not. But the guy did a remarkable job with it.

I agree with this take, it is much to bubble gum pop/dance type for my taste, but for what it was, it wasn't bad

Went in expecting it to be horrible and was pleasantly surprised. I mean, I don't think I'd ever listen to it myself, but it wasn't a bad interpretation of the song. By that I mean that while I defied everything that the original ever was musically, it apparently DOES work as a pop song too :P

I think the kid gave it a good shot and I liked the fact that he made his own mark on the performance and didn't try to copy Meat Loaf's style. It's not normally something I'd listen to but I wouldn't go as far as to say I hated it.

It's good to try something different every now and then. ( So I keep telling my wife).
