Default Sheffield Spoilt

Sorry to rant guys but I'm still miffed by last nights events.

A wonderful concert spoit for me by the loud and aggessive, drunken female (I'm not using the word lady) at the front. She was nasty in the extreme not only to me but to some behind her too.

OK the story goes.... I was at the front and she moved away (as it turned out to visit the bar again) so naturally I just moved into the spot she had vacated. On her return she shouted, swore and threatened me to move away. Stupidly, I tried to stand up for myself only to me punched and man-handled away. Should I have tried to fight back? I don't thinks so especeially as she was branishing a bottle of beer! Why reduce myself to her level. Anyway I hope she's proud of herself she ruined my concert and made me feel very uneasy throughout the rest of the night.

If she belongs to this site I'd like to thank her for ruining a fabulous night This is the first time I have wittnessed this type of behaviour at a Meat Loaf concert and hope it's the last. Meat would have been sooooooooo proud NOT!!!

Sorry to hear you had to put up with that, especially at something we've all been looking forward to!

Must admit, due to the nature of a standing show I thought that if any crowd were going to be "aggressive" it'd be Glasgow with everyone racing to get to the front, but I'm sorry to say that (in my opinion) it was the Sheffield crowd.

Security were were pretty great in that the first few rows were allowed to move forward to the barrier, and I'm not sure of anyone who would decline this opportunity, but the amount of "get back to your f*****g seats" I heard from people in the second row was disgusting. If someone moves to stand in front of you and stands in your way then politely ask them to move, but the amount of people who shouted abuse and actually touched people to move them on was awful.

Thanks for the support guys. I know I should have perhaps stayed in my seat but when the opportunity arose to move I couldn't resist. I love being in the crowd at the front of a concert and this opportunity doesn't happen too often now, as security is usually so tight. Had I been seated on the second row I'd have climbed over the first one!! Not sure why most of the second row stayed where they were. Others around ignored the harpie from hell as she was with a crowd of other females all in the same state. I moved back to my seat during the encore so as to avoid (very cowardley of me I know!!) any confrontation at the end.

I am sorry you had to have that happen to you, i think it was great that people were allowed to move forward but the trouble was i was in row 11 and people behind me were moving to the front!
So basically you had people from row 12+ moving right to the front which i have to be honest pissed me off a bit. It's a shame a few idiots can spoil it for the rest.

Not cowardly at all. You did the sensible thing.

A lot of folk there last night would have been Sheffielders. I am not speaking out of turn when I say we (not all) can be quite aggressive. You've seen Sheffield, most of it is filthy, most of it stinks, it's just a dive. What have folk got to be nice about when they live in conditions like that?

Any fellow Sheffielder's I have managed to offend, feel free to pm me.

I'm sorry your evening was spoilt and if it is one of ours, name n shame 'em. I would.

NOW WHERE THE HELL WAS SECURITY TO GET THE "B" OUT OF THERE? WHEN YOU DON'T WANT THEM THEY ARE THERE. WHEN YOU DO WANT THEM, THEY ARE HIDING. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. THIS IS WHY I DON'T DRINK ANYMORE. I WOULD HAVE SHARED MY SEAT WITH YOU AND/OR ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTED TO GET CLOSE

Such a shame, because the security at Newcastle were top notch - they did really well making sure that only people on the front row could go up to the barrier, and anybody sneaking down was soon sent back - by bouncers if needs be.

I take my cane and crack 'em in the head. Why the hell do people have to get drunk at a show to have fun? Can never understand that.

Thats normally the case, and being on the third row back at newcastle I was concerned there would be a stampede forward - but the security was excellent. My sister even lost her ticket in the toilets, and an hour later a security guard came to our seats and handed it back, saying it had been found!

Hello, I understand your problem, I too sat with people who clearly were not Meat Loaf fans and I sank into depression after the show. It is so sad that whilst Meat is doing such super shows, the crowds of fans are getting treated so poorly.

Again why serve booze at shows anyway. I think it's a person choice to drink but I still think concerts shouldn't booze cause thats how things get started.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences and I agree that selling alcohol at concerts is unnecessary. However, I also agree that it is unfair when people from further back are allowed to move forward, meaning that 'good seats' aren't really worth holding out for. I bought what I thought would be good seats in Manchester on the Saturday (4 rows back in the centre of Block B) only to find that a lot of people from further back and the side blocks stood at the front blocking our view by constantly holding their f@~king mobile phone cameras up to the stage. We complained to the security guards who did absolutely nothing about it and I am still waiting to hear back from MEN customer services. If people want to stand at the front they should either buy front seat tickets or go to a standing venue.
