Default The Bat Box

Found here & here. No further details yet on what the 3 discs will contain.

Hmmm.

Could it be another cash in compilation set?

Judging by the price I doubt it's going to be the definitive Bat 1-3 collection a lot of Meat Fans would like to see.

It's also only a couple of weeks til it's released but there's no additional track info or even a sleeve picture to go with it. Also Play.com have BMG as the label it's on. Isn't Meat still with Universal?

I smell disappointment on this one I'm afraid.

If anyone has more info then do share (Hi Kev) but I'm not holding my breath.

There was talk a over a year ago of Sony re-releasing Bat (again!) to coincide with the 30th anniversary, with the complete Nassau concert remastered and bundled in the release.

It doesn't say it's a 3 Bats set. It's highly unlikely that would happen as all 3 Bats are on different labels. It's anyone's guess what will be included. I'd like to see some previously unreleased live concert material on both CD and DVD but since the set is being released by BMG I imagine they are quite limited in what they can offer. The Bad Attitude Live concert on DVD would be nice to have though.

Surely it's bound to be just the 3 albums packaged together since it says 3 discs? I guess we'll see in a few weeks.

Did Meat at one time not talk about doing a box set and adding on some rare songs that are re-recorded like What Part of My Body hurts the Most... Though don't quote me on that, but I amsure I read it somewhere on the net.

Plus Diane, that would be great. Unreleased concerts being finally released . You never know this company could of bought the rights enableing them to use it on the 3disc set...

Only time will tell

Why do they insist on farting around with the Nassau concert when the El Mocambo one is far superior?

has there ever been a BOOH 3 disc set released before? ie could this be a reissue of something old, or is it (whatever it is) something new?

There's a "Box Out Of Hell" which was only released in South Africa in 1996 and it's very, very rare. The cardboard box contains the BOOH, Deadringer & Midnight At The Lost & Found CDs plus a unique CD single containing Took The Words, Read 'Em & Weep, Fallen Angel, I Love You So I Told You A Lie (wrongly credited as being with Todd Rundgren) & what is possibly the only CD release of Lost Love. Oh, and there's also a Meat Loaf sticker. If anyone's interested I'll post some pics.

i don't think there is going to be a bat 3 re-issue.

The problem with this being anything other than the early sony stuff is that the 3 Bat albums are with 3 differnt companies and its amazingly rare that the 3 work together on something. It has to be something massive that will make them money, for example the 'Now, That's What I Call Music...' series.

It happen with the very best of after loads of dealings and was eventually settled with EMI getting the rights for the first 5 years (I think) and Sony taking it over from there. Thats why there are two versions of The very best of.

Now, if all 3 discs are decent remasters, that's one I'm going to have to own :)

Of course not saying the new Bat box set will look anything like this.

Please do not copy these pictures anywhere else without permission. Thank you.

It's one of my most treasured Meat collectables. Beats me why there hasn't been anything like this available anywhere else.

I should have mentioned the CDs are all in jewel cases. I just took the inserts out for the photographs because of the light reflection off the cases.
