I thought 51st State / Formula 51 was really good! Of all the films I've seen him in (rapidly increasing but still more), I actually thought Crazy In Alabama was good, cos its not the sort of thing he usually does.
Fight Club of course was good but the trouble with Meats films is often you don't see that much of him - or enough anyway!!!!! Black Top was very good too, the force behind his acting was immense. Black Dog again good but didn't see enough of him. And as has been said in these forums before - WHY DOES MEAT ALWAYS HAVE TO DIE?!!!!!! |

I don't really have a worst, but there are a lot of ML movies left for me to see. Favorites: Black Dog (which seems to be on TV about every other day here in the States) and Fight Club. I've seen clips on the ROL site of "Blacktop" (?) and it looks REALLY good- I'm looking around for a copy of it now, along with "Focus" and "Crazy in Alabama". For some reason I've always liked the psychological thrilled/crazed killer type of movie (Psycho was my favorite movie as a teen), so seeing Meat AS a crazed killer may be too much for me to bear! I'm anxious to see Blacktop, and I'd be interested to hear comments (that don't give away the end) from others who have seen it.

Black Top - personally I think Meat plays a pyscho so well - almost like real life Meats acting in my opinion came through well in his film, as he wasn't relying on his "up front and in your face" mode.10/10
51st State - I just love Meat in this film - maybe parts should be tailored for the" meaner" Meat.9/10 Rocky Horror - Love the whole concept of this film - although Meat was the icing on the cake10/10 |

Best and worst
I think all of Meat's performances are good, but I can't say the same for the plots.
My favourite single scene is from Crazy In Alabama, when he pulls a boy off a fence, then goes to kneel by a pool. I think that's Meat as his best, out of the scenes I've seen so far. But I didn't enjoy the way it was written. There were two seemingly equal plots (no B plot but two A plots) competing for attention and I think the scriptwriters should just have picked one as the main one (preferably the one with Meat). I didn't enjoy Spice World because Meat's scenes were very few (but a very good one about fixing toilets) and the plot didn't interest me. My favourite movie is Focus. A great story and great performance by Meat. |
