BAT OR BAT2
If there has already been a topic like this, please forgive me, and please show me where it is? And if there isn't one, please feel free to tell me your answer.
If Meat were to ask you, what do you like about both bat albums, what would you say? Well, I 'd say, since they are both, well done, and same great idea. I like how BOOH, is hard fun, soft album, with humor, and really rocks!! Great lines, just GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! I could name a lot of qualities for this album. And BAT 2 is more magical, longer, beautiful, great vision. and GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! AND BOTH, have killer instrumentals, with great writing and singing!!! |

Ooooh so tricky!
But I think that in the end, I would have to say that Bat1 gets it by a tiny little margin, because the songs are slightly more up tempo, and a bit more rock'n'roll rather than just rock. I would give Bat1 100% and Bat2 99.999999999999999%! So it's pretty close |

This is a close one, but it has to be Bat 1 for me, the original and the best. Nothin tops this album

I would have to say Bat 1 also, but I love all Meats music for different reasons, normally related to different periods of my life, and I have lived a long time

my favourite has got to be Bat2. I just love the imagery that Styienman's lyrics conjour up - the magic, the mystery and the fantasy. Along with some stonking good rocking tunes, this is more my sort of thing than Bat1. Although I am way too young to remember the first release of Bat1 (I wasn't even born), so this may have something to do with why I don't hold it in nostalgic value like some do.
BUT, having said that BOOH is my favourite Meat song, and will be forever. mike |

I've got to give the slightest edge to Bat1. I first heard it the day it was released from a friend and had to go buy my (first of many) copy immeadiatly after hearing it. That album was perfect for a seventeen year old kid!
I remember having the same reaction to the song "Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through" when JS released it on his album and at that point fully understood what a powerful team they were. It was only reinforced when Dead Ringer came out. I so much wanted the voice from Bat 1 singing R&R dreams. And then it finally happened. I approached that album with great trepidation. Could it possibly be? Well we all know now that it could and was. A true continuation of 1. I will also rate them 10 and 9.9999999 respectivly. |

I have to say Bat 2 because for example For Crying Out Loud and Heaven Can Wait aren't as good as Everything Louder Than Everything Else and Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire). I do love both but 2 I feel is the better

no question: BAT
I like all the songs on it! It is directly followed by BAT2 and CHSIB-don't know which to prefer, it changes from week to week |

Overall I think Bat is the better album...Bat2 was good but there's something about it being the first album with songs by Steinman for Meat Loaf that work and sound better.

Surprisingly enough, I prefer BAT 2. It's the album I grew up with, and I've never felt any attachment - just appreciation - for the first one. Besides this, it's too short.

I, also, prefer Bat 2. The music is refined, the lyrics perfect and the voice simply sensational. That's not to say it beats Bat 1 by a long margin because there is no doubt in my mind that that comes in a very close second place.
CHSIB and WTTN are on about an equal footing for me. Songs like CHSIB and Testify compare very favourably with I'd Lie For You and Not a Dry Eye. They come joint third, I can't pik between them. |

I don't think I can choose between them. Every time I think I have a favourite I put on one of the other CD's and remember how good that one was. I just can't decide.

Paradise and Rock N' Roll Dreams are two of my favorite Meat Loaf songs ... BUT my favorite album is still Couldn't Have Said It Better Why? I know Bat I and Bat II are classics .. and, like the upcoming Bat III, they always will be. But CHSIB is special to me, and like you, my heart spoke. It's all I can say too :) Vicki |
