Roadie actor Art Carney died 11/09/03

I just read that Art Carney, who played Travis Redfish's father in Roadie, passed away on Sunday at 85. I really enjoyed his role in Roadie- all the inventions were very cool. The article on yahoo about him was very interesting- it said that he was an alcoholic for 30 plus years, and that he stopped drinking during the filming of the movie that won him an Oscar in the early 70's. It also said that he'd spent 6 months in a sanitarium prior to that- that's a serious drinking problem- I never knew that! It also said that his trademark limp was the result of a D-Day shrapnel wound that caused on leg to be 3/4 inch shorter than the other. Roadie was mentioned among his film credits. It sounds like he lived a very interesting life.

that is so sad, but he had a good innings all the same though 85 was a good age
