Vote for Max at the european song contest
Hi!
don't know if you watch the european song contest. But this year the german singer "Max" and his song "Can't wait until tonight" is quite worth watching/hearing. His story is really curious: there is a german tv-show called "tv-total" (comedy, showing funny scenes from television like Meat kissing Thoma Gottschalk,...) Some months ago they started a parody-meant version of pop-idol to search someone who will sing at the show where the german starter for the european song contest would be elected. And there (in tv-total) they found Max- he looks like the boy next door and has a really great voice. He won the trip to the german grand-prix show And there he won with over 90% of the votes and now sings for Germany. (Can you still follow me ) to cut a long story short: Vote for Max! he really deserves it. Yvonne P.S.: I don't know him, I just wrote this because I like his song :) |

Ok, but if we vote for him, you have to vote for our guy. . .James Fox I believe, he's from Wales, representing the United Kingdom!

To be all depressing, The U.K. won't win.
Eurovision is one of the most extreme examples of political voting known to exist!! Last year we went against the majority of Europe by siding with USA in Iraq and got nul points. I believe the last time we got our lowest score was 1991 when we were involved in the first Gulf War. After all, we all know what will happen: Greece won't vote for Turkey nor will Germany vote for Austria (incidentally the German song will probably be about Love, Peace or Harmony!!) Norway will vote for Sweden but this won't be reciprocated The UK will vote for Malta (since the Maltese singer is English) France won't vote for the UK Gyprus will give Greece 12 points - and make a token gesture of a few points for Turkey At least one country will try to make a political statement (rip off black clothes to reveal white ones underneath or similar) And finally, The great God of Commentators that is Our Beloved And Gracious Leader Wogan (King Of TOG's) will announce which act he likes who will then come pitifully low!! Still, where will i be - at a Eurovision party!!!!! PS. Before some bright spark announces that it won't be voted like usual this year becasue the public can now vote - please rember that when they tested the system in some countries as they voted during the semi-final that this was the system that allowed them to vote for their own act!!! PPS. Yes there was a semi-final!!! The UK along with 4 other countries were exempt from this as we pay so much money towards the Eurovision event that without any one of the five countries, the event could not afford to go ahead!! |

I only saw the reults of the votes part, but I wasn't a bit suprised that we, The Netherlands, only got 9 points. But I can't say that the winning song did much for me. Was *that* English she was singing?

No surprise that the votes from the balcan states went to other balcan states-same in the states from former Sowjet Union.
The songs I liked (Belgium and Norway) got practically no points. The show from the winner was quite good, but her song wasn't |

Loved the German and Cyprus entries, if they release these over here, I'd buy them.
As Janice Nichols would say "I'll give it Five" (the older generation of us will remember this famous catchphrase |

I think Meat should represent the UK in the next Eurovision .
After all, he is an honorary Brit |
