This is what Music Week had to say:
Monday September 29, 2008 By Ben Cardew Q Magazine is to present its classic song award to Meatloaf for his epic track Bat Out Of Hell. The Bauer title holds its annual awards this Monday (October 6) and Meatloaf will be there to receive his honour in person. Q editor in chief Paul Rees says, "There are some songs that transcend such things as time and genre, and Bat Out Of Hell is assuredly one of them. It sounded extraordinary when it was first released, and it appears no less so now - like something beamed in from another planet.” This year Q Radio will air three exclusive shows from the awards, including backstage gossip. It would be nice for Jim to take the credit but ultimately it would always be Meat being the 'face' of the award as Jim wouldn't be at the awards to accept it

Thanks for letting us know Diane, and they are right about BOOH transcends time and genres. It is certainly well deserved.
