This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic. Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!
All Revved Up With No Place To Go (7) It's a great rock 'n' roll. In boring days you must listen it. End of the song is the best. Your body's starting move with your legs and arms. But... The text is a little bit imbecile to me. It could be very good in an 80's disco hit. My opinion: the music and the lyrics isn't balance. It's OK! Enough from critics. I couldn't compose better... :) My score is: 7 Average: 8.88 (115.5/13) [07/08/05] Last edited by White of High; 07 Aug 2005 at 18:11. |

this song suits meat down to the ground. i agree the end is the best part - except it means it's gonna end! great, and has the bonus of the great american 'jim' imagery i love so much!

A very good song. I think the album version isn't great, But live it's one of the best Meat songs. Why didn't they put the intro on the album??? The intro is amazing to this song. I mean the intro they play always live. The two live versions I like te most are London 1985 and Cardiff 1993.
My Score: 8/9 |

they did not put the intro on the album cause in thee days you could only put 45 minutes on an album. second reason is that Todd Rundgren keeps the songs short. he puts All revved back to the basic instead of pulling it out like a chewing gum. If Jim would have produced this album it would have becom a different album. if Todd Rundgren would have produced Anything for Love, it would have last only 6 minutes.
back to the song.....when i heard this song first, i was bouncing up and down the house and still now, after 19 years i am still bouncing, especially the end of the song. The song starts like a regular rock song and then......boom, boom, shake the room. 10/10 |

I really like this song. I'm still trying to understand its meaning, anyone know? I LOVE this song. I am so glad the SAXAPHONE is in it. I think, this is what makes the song unique on the album, each song on the album is unique in its own way. In A great way. Because they are what JS calls visions. And they are wel descriptive. Although, I don't understand this one, I love it. The end is the best..........yea probably, cause it gets really moving. I think they could have made the album a 2 Records. I bet it would have been, If Todd didn't produce, anyway I'm not complaining. Great album, great song
I'd give it a 9.5\10. |

Here we go then, I've considered working my way through these before and I think it'll take me some time.......
I love the raw sound of this song on the album, especially the bridge into "oh baby I'm a hunter....." its pure funky rock and roll and always makes me smile. Not sure about you guys but I have 2 listening modes, the first is purely for the sound I'm hearing - just appreciating the noise really, and the second is listening to lyrics. Maybe there is a third where I get geeky and like the way a song is mixed but we'll ignore that. Lyrically its all about frustration to me, pure and simple. The early live version is great for the spoken intro, as is the 1993 NYC live version with a different spoken intro. Would love to hear a live version with sax. 8/10 Luke |

You ought to hear the version from "Neverland" (Jim Steinman musical from 1977). It is much slower, and has a creepy instrumental (including the Intro to BAT!). For those who want to hear it, find Smeghead's site
(R. - I'm not advertising!) P.S. (reply to RSG) The song's about Peter Pan ("like the son of a jackal I'm the leader of the pack") in the context of MODERN-DAY, regarding teenage love. You should do some research on Steinman's "Neverland" |

Really like the end of the song, the whole song should be done so.
And i think the live versions are better than the studio recording. 7 |
