Kathy, about Meat as Hook: There was a short European tour in 1988, where Meat's act was completely different from what we know it to be today. I have to admit this tour has always fascinated me. We all know that Meat plays a character onstage--the character of Meat Loaf, who is very different from the man behind the curtain.

But on this particular tour, I have always thought that his regular character was playing OTHER characters, that of the insane rock 'n' roller AND Hook--if that makes sense. And it's not easy to do that!! 8)

I don't know if he was unhappy with the results or maybe he just preferred playing the regular Meat Loaf role, but I don't think (and please, someone correct me if I'm wrong) that he ever tried this again. I think for every subsequent tour, he has just played the ML character or gone on as himself, as in the Storytellers tour.

Since we've been talking about this, I'm going to share something else with you all today. I think I had it up for a short time during Meat's birthday party at the forum. But I know that a number of you weren't able to be here for it. So, I'll give you a taste of Meat playing Hook!

Hope you enjoy it!! It's not the best recording, but I've always sort of felt like it's a miracle we can see ANY of this at all!! :bunny:

I make this post "sticky". Everyone here has to known about this tour, cause in my opinion he made history with it.
This is a very great picture from the best tour he has ever done. This tour was just perfect. And I was there. 8)

I know little dancer, it can be sore on the rear, i have now
started using a beanbag instead of a cushion. 8O
seriously though the pics are fantastic, thanks so much. :P
and yes Gerry, patti is a fine looking lady, and she is looking a heck
of a lot thinner no wonder with the touring, she is just brilliant. :)

i know what you mean, bigmomma- somebody get patti a hamburger!!! Seriously, though, when I've been involved in a show that was touring- you never have time to eat- and by the time that you do, you're not hungry!! Not to mention the fact that she works her cute little behind off, eh?
