What will come true !!!???
Meat, i recall an interview where you said you absolutely planned to work again with Rob Cavallo and seemed to be almost exclusive in the statement. Does this mean Rob is signed on for Hell In A Handbasket?

This is an interesting one. Is Meat taking the piss? Was it never coming out in the first place and Wikipedia was wrong? Has it been cancelled?

I hate that DVD !!!! It was released in the 8o's for s a short while. Then the contract expired. The Co. that made it sold it (did not have the rights to do so) I went in to litigation , made them stop selling them in stores and ship product
to me to me . I tore them up !! It will not come or somebody will get sued . I will not be as kind this time.

I was wondering the same thing. I read on the Roadrunner Records website that Rob has been nominated for a Grammy Award this year for Producer Of The Year .. which he truly deserves

That's a shame
I know you don't sound your best on some of those songs, but (call me crazy here) the rawness gave a whole new perspective on some songs. Most notably on I'm Gonna Love Her For Both Of Us.
It's part of your history, and it's a shame that there will be future fans of your music who will be denied enjoying that performance.

Can you add one more prediction please?

There will be a single on store shelves to promote the single. The record company didn't want it, but Meat said "bite me".

I agree with Evil One and The Flying Mouse. There's not much footage from that time available and many fans find it interesting, especially those who didn't have the opportunity to go Meat Loaf shows then. I'm glad I picked up a VHS on eBay some time ago. I have been looking forward to a re-release on DVD, I like that concert better than 3 Bats Live.

Just out of curiosity: Meat, what does make you dislike some of your early work that much? Is it the financial aspect, the circumstances in which something was created / released or is it a general dissatisfaction?

I bought this about 15 years ago, when anything else live was just extremely hard to find. I thought that the opening (Bat) was just epic, along with All Revved Up and Promised Land. I guess I understand why you don't care for it, but in the absence of any other material available it was incredible at the time.

I would really like it to be re-released, but if you genuinely hate it please release something live from your vaults that you're proud to have done. The only reason there are so many bootlegs is the dearth of officially released live performances - just evidence of a hugely untapped market.

sad we wont see a rerelease of it. but its great to see '82 being viewed as the crap year it was. Too many slurred words, beer, drugs, money loss, and probably my least favorite NLE line up ever.

Do you hate Bad Attitude Live? Thats something that you should be very proud of.

also, yes I will wet my pants.

I think you're spot on with that comment.

Yes, Bad Attitude Live is better but if I had seen only the very good stuff, I'd probably be less interested in Meat Loaf. It's the ups and downs that make him interesting and I admire how he tends to fight and improve after periods in his career that didn't go very well.

I agree. BUT...

Their are obvious reasons he doesn't want wembley '82 released. If I were him I wouldn't either. the three tracks after IGLHFBOU are painfully sad to watch.

You could argue its similar to the Rockpalast DVD.

but Before meat releases his mediocre concerts, he should first release his better concerts

I would'nt be too bothered if READEM AND WEEP WASNT EDITED OUT

I agree - the self destruction, the stuggle with the voice, and ultimately the triumph over adversity - is what makes Meat Loaf just so compelling .

Its the greatest career in Rock & Roll and yet simultaneously the most unfulfilled, or even tragic.

I just watched the Dortmund '81 show again. A lot of people think it's the worst televised Meat Loaf concert ever but maybe our generation is just too censorious? The people in the audience don't look unhappy at all, you can see Meat crowd surfing (!!!) and battering mike stands - that's rock and roll!
