Default All Star Neverland Express!

Not that the Neverland Express arn't doing a great job, but I got thinking today about which rock stars around today would make a great neverland express, a sort of supergroup to back Meat Loaf on stage, heres my line up

LEAD GUITAR: SLASH
BASS: NICKY WIRE (MANIC STREET PREACHERS)
DRUMS: DAVE GROHL
GUITAR: PETE TOWNSHEND
PIANO: ELTON JOHN
BACKING VOCALS: PINK

Imagine how great this line up would be? Slash playing the lead on Bat, Pinks rough vocals on deadringer, elton playing for crying out loud. who would be your all star line up? (all members must be alive today)

NO NO NO!

The whole point of the Neverland Express is to compliment Meat. Not to overshadow him.

Interesting idea! This has had us both thinking for a while.

We'll avoid anyone who's recorded or played with Meat in the past (so that rules out the likes of Patti, Steve Buslowe, Max Weinberg, Roy Bittan and Steve Van Zandt which would be a supergroup in it's own right!)

How about ...

Piano : Jools Holland (especially for Paradise)
Drums: Charlie Watts
Guitar: Richie Sambora
Guitar: Nils Lofgren
Bass: Gene Simmons
Sax: Clarence "The Big Man" Clemons
Female Vocal: Beverley Knight (Paradise, AFL etc)
Backing Vocals: Tina Turner (Deadringer and general "Woo woo's")

(I'd happily swap Nils and Richie for Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards on Guitar)

That was the only flash of inspiration I had doing this (and possibly one of the only famous bass players?! lol)

The one we really struggled on was the female singers, not so much the general backing but someone to duet with Meat...really tough, especially given we couldn't choose former band or people who've recorded alraedy!

We debated him last night, and then after deciding "no" we saw him on concert on TV and he wasn't as bad as we thought, although his habit of going "wooo oooo ooo" and whistling in the middle of songs backed our argument up.

Yes he does do that and he keeps doing the peace v sign all the time which is annoying but he's a damn good bass player, I've seen him live twice and he rocked!, really great performer.

He's a great drummer, but would his style be accurate for a Meat Loaf show?

You know what I'd like to see? The NLE as it is, or in any of its incarnations, fronted by ~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~, because for years now he's been saying that this is gonna happen and it hasn't. And never will. lol.

I've only seen youtube footage (more ego than talent) so don't think it'll happen lol
