Default CHSIB Funny Car!

WOW! This is Big Time, This Is Larger Than Life!

Dean Skuza, funny car driver has a CHSIB car! Funny Car driving is very big in the US, this is a MAJOR promo for the CD.

Most sponsors of cars are major corporations, so having this is very big.

Surf on over to MOTS and check it out!

WOW!

hmmm .. a double decker bus in London .. a Ford TV ad in the US .. now a Funny Car .. Crazy 'bout a Mercury .. Think there's a theme here? .. the biker image is receding into history

How about an endorsement for Mercedes next? .. versatile, dynamic, powerful, classic, stylish and elegant .. they share many hallmarks :) .. and note I left out "spacious" Meat, although you both cut a fine and unmistakable presence

That is a hella hella hella cool looking car! What a paint job! It's too bad it will be so short lived, but it is absolutely rockin. I wonder what the sponsorship fee for something like that runs. Let's hope the driver does well and lives up to the car.

There are two more interesting tidbits about this on the Dean Skuza website (http://www.deanskuza.com/news.shtml):

Meat Loaf will make a special visit to the NHRA Fram Autolite Nationals at Infineon Raceway (Sonoma, California) on Sunday, August 3, in Dean Skuza's pit at 10:00 am AND

Action Collectibles is producing a 1/24 scale die-cast collectible of the Couldn't Have Said It Better race car, promoting the upcoming release of Meat Loaf's new album and the North American leg of his world tour. I'll be looking into that, and I'll post purchasing info if I can find it.

All this promo for CHSIB is getting very exciting!

Default How to purchase the 1/24 model of the Dean Skuza CHSIB car

The collectible car is available (for Sept/Oct delivery) at :

http://www.pitstopdiecast.com/viewby...hp?code=action

Go there, click on advanced search, enter Meat Loaf, and the screen with a beautiful pic will pop up for you to order it.

It's a bit pricey for me at $59.95 American, but I thought some others might be interested. It would certainly be a unique bit of memorabilia!

Good for you Vicki! I can't ever be an impulse buyer, I wish I could-too many other obligations to think about. It's a 1/24 scale, so it should be a bit larger than most "Hot Wheels" type of cars, which I think are 1/64 or so. (At least that's the scale for the John Deere tractor toys that my son collects that are about the size of the Hot Wheel cars) Enjoy your new entry in your ML collection!

I love that car, that's really funny, I truly never thought that I'd ever see a Meat album on a race car in my entire life. I wonder if Meat will ever appear at a live event with the driver? Maybe he will when "CHSIB" comes out in America.

I've seen somewhere .. here oo on David's site? .. Meat's going to the nationals .. Autolite? .. I remember it was for tomorrow .. and he was supposed to be visiting this driver in the pit .. a track with a name like Infinity? .. and NHRA .. I remember that because it sounded like the Rifle Association

Well the CHSIB car will run another day. Dean qualified 7th out of 16 qualifiers. He mentioned...Mr. Loaf will be here tomorrow. Good PR for ML and the album.

tbuck,

Did he actually say "Mr. Loaf"? That's a hoot! I was trying to watch it, but hubby (not a Meat fan by any stretch of the imagination) kept flipping channels and I just caught the very end of the qualifying race for the CHSIB car. Did it look different that the pic on the website, or am I mistaken? It seemed to have much less red to it. I'll be watching tomorrow to see if they show Meat!

Sherrie,

Well, I'm not sure if the car looked that different, I spotted it right away but I'm not good at seeing detail on cars. The car did have all the Meat Loaf logos and "Betty" the Couldn't Have Said It Better cover girl just like the pic.

When Dean raced the car, the commentator mentioned the "Meat Loaf" car and that Meat was a sponsor. At first we didn't think the car had a chance to advance because it was disqualified the previous evening during the first round and Dean had to have an excellent race to progress. Well, Dean came through, and he qualified #7 out of a field of 16.

After the race Dean Skuza was interviewed and he referred to "Mr. Loaf" and mentioned he would be at the finals. I think he also said something about Meat's great set of pipes. Dean was very excited and very concerned about making the finals after the bad start on Friday night.

Just showed Dean and the car racing. They said..Dean's in the Meat Loaf car...and Meat Loaf is very happy. Then they showed a shot of Meat with a big smile and his fist in the air. This was semi-finals or something, WTF do I know about this stuff. Dean moved on, they will show the funny car racing again within the next few hours.

Any chance to get Meat in the public eye is good. Will let you know what develops.

OK, Dean won his next race. Guess this is what gets him into the semifinals. As I said I don't know diddley about this.

They showed 2 shots of Meat, one watching the track, sitting right by it, the other after it was over, smiling with his hand in the air w/ a water bottle. He looked very happy, as well he should be.

Dean did the run in 5.02 seconds, ran 302 mph.

T

Wooo, they just showed him again- he seems pretty pumped about the whole thing. Safety first for ML, he has on the dandy ear plugs since he's in the pits. My Dad used to drag us to funny car races when I was little, and it is unbeleiveable loud in the pits! (Not to mention how grimy you get from being there- between the rubber and the asphalt you are quite the mess if you spend any time at all there!)
