So...not only do we argue about Meat and his abilities on here..but now we have to argue about other artists? -shrug- seems...odd to me.

Why? Think we are all entitled to our own opinions. In the context of stating why I may find Meat's version of Let it Be sensational I'm by nature going to compare and in light of that I have to conclude the original doesn't do as much for me. Of course I exaggerated saying some things, I often do and I do not mean disrespect to Paul, who as I've said before is an amazing songwriter but from most of The Beatles early songs at least I would say the pouring of emotions into songs was hugely lacking. A lot of that has come from the era in which they recorded songs no doubt, you get 2 1/2 minutes and that's that.

However saying you are a "Loaf spoiled child" in response to whatever your opinion on other artists is is ignorant.

Dont think let it be is that powerful
Of course you're right. It was foolish of me, and indeed very laughable, to have even mentioned it

FWIIW - The Beatles-version never did anything for me!
... where Meats version is THE song I play when I feel down ...and it does lift me up again!... it gives me a sense of peace/calm/acceptation.
And Yes, to me that is because of the Meats ability to touch ones soul, when he sings! (where from my perspective Mc Cartney just sings...)

And ofcourse, it being a b-side and all, not many people will be touched by this ... but I am glad Caryl and myself are (among others I am sure) ...

Didn't mean to piss you off, man. I generally have strange opinions, so I'm not about to ridicule anyone else's. That being said, I personally feel that Paul is an excellent singer, and that he's exhibited emotion in songs time and time again. I think you're being a bit unfair, but your opinion is your own, and I have no right to bash you for it...

...But if you were to say anything about Lennon, then by god...

Lennon and ringo have some great material. Ringo's Time Takes Time CD is a masterpiece. He brings emotion into his songs for certain.
