I could've chosen links to any of half a dozen tracks from this concert because there all ~~~~ing amazing, but here's AFL ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV4CF...eature=related ... not the greatest of (audience) recordings but Meat is in incredible form. Why, oh why, oh why, oh why, is there no official DVD release of a concert from this era ? A pro shot version of this would kick the arse of MSO. Thanks to Wario for posting. |

I couldn't agree more. Despite the MSO concert being akin to riding a bombastic tidal wave along a rollercoaster of wonder and awe and a breathtaking piece of cinematography from beginning to end, a Bat 2 tour DVD would
![]() ![]() As far as I'm aware, one of the Hudson Theater shows (with Jim) was filmed, but footage has so far not surfaced. The Netherlands show as featured on the Classic Albums DVD was filmed, but the set list was trimmed slightly. Then there is the History Of Meat Loaf Live show which is the likely candidate for DVD release, but featured even less songs and Meat ballsed up the second verse of Anything For Love. But did do Roll Over Beethoven as an encore. |

There's probably more than that I'm guessing if the ponies haven't eaten the tapes.

![]() As good as MSO is, IMO Meat sang better in the late 80s / early 90s so personally I'd prefer this / Hudson / Netherlands for my orgasmic roller coaster ride of joy. Plus just after Bat 2 you had only Bat1 / Bat2 songs in the set so no inferior albums to promote with ![]() |

Wasted Youth is awesome. Jim Steinman should have been on stage more often. Meat appears so cool and full of energy - the incarnation of Rock & Roll. I especially like his screams during Lemon, although I've never liked that song much. It's strange that no live footage from that time has ever officially been released (aside from three songs on the Bat II Picture Show VHS), considering how popular Meat was at that time.

Being as in 1994 Lemon was towards the begining of the set and the intro "thank you" was taken from Heaven Can Wait which was towards the end, Id say yes, the majority at least was filmed.

In an interview Meat said that Jim wrote AFL and a year later wrote Objects. I wonder if there were maybe a few songs that never made it. A DATE WITH DESTINY comes to mind. A BAT 2 retrospective would be amazing. |

On 17th November 1994 Meat Loaf performed a whole concert at the Royal Albert Hall where all proceeds went to the Prince's Trust (in fact the tickets said it was the Prince's Trust Concert). Prince Charles attended and sat in the Royal Box but I don't think he stayed for the whole concert. (He was introduced to Meat Loaf and the band before the concert.) That was the first concert of the tour and later they played Sheffield on 22nd, 29th and 30th November and at one of those 3 concerts (I can't remember offhad which) they filmed Life Is A Lemon specifically with the thank you in it which Meat Loaf said that evening was for The Prince's Trust concert which was screened on TV as part of a big Prince's Trust concert programme. |

Does anyone remember a program from the 94ish era, something to do with Virgin or EMI in which they showed various artists on the label performing live, including Meat doing 'Objects'? I'm sure it was released on VHS too.

I'm pretty sure they only filmed the one song.

Shame on Prince Charles, that seems rude. Did he not find it good enough to sit through 2 hours or so.

Wario, thanks for PM. I think you have a point.
Still think this could at least be a poll with some examples from said concerts ? |
