I've heard the new songs!
What would I say?
It's a big surprise!

Meat!
Sorry, but what is it? First time it seems a deteriorated music. I hoped "Did I Say That" and "CHSIB" won't be the best but I have to say these are the best! Jim has ever heard them?

When my friends ask me why do I like Meat's music I say for his own music, for his piano and orchestra, for his voice and a lot of instruments and for background vocals...
And now I hear some songs with guitars and drums, sometimes piano and no more!

About songs:
Tear Me Down: one of the best, better than the version of Hedwig & The Angry Inch but I'd sing "Wig In A Box". It's good rock song what look likes "Amnesty Is Granted" but it's better!
Do It: Garret! Do you remember what I say about Metallica! You will like it. It looks like "Mister Big Time" by Bon Jovi if anybody knows that. It's metal of our time...
Man Of Steel: Not bad but not Meat Loaf. The piano solo is good! It isn't excellent...
Love You Out Loud: I wait a good ballad after the title. I wait a new "For Crying Out Loud". I must say it's bad and boring....
Testify: A new "Midnight At The Lost And Found". I ain't want to say that it is one of the best good fast rock song in the album. It will be good in concert...
You're Right, I Was Wrong: A ballad, no more! It seems to me Diane Warren song but Not A Dry Eye is much better. Simple ballad!
Because Of You: I think this is one of the best song, ballad. The guitar is nice but it isn't Meat too...
Why Isn't That Enough: It is the most energetic song on the album between ballad and rock! I see fantasy in this song!
Forever Young: The best song!!! Beautiful ballad!!! Good piano and violins!!!
Couldn't Have Said It Better: Like "I'd Lie For You" but that is better. You know what is my opinion about "I'd Lie For You"...
Did I Say That: Everybody know!

Well, it is my opinion. Sorry! It isn't my taste! It's only Rock!
Do you know "These Days" by Bon Jovi? After 5 years they have assigned "Crush" and "Bounce" and the fans were taken aback and frightened. Take care Meat Loaf, please!!!

White of High, i know you are a nice guy but i just cannot believe it. Meat said that it is his best album after Booh (thanx Vicky) and it is the first album he did with no pressure whatsoever from recordcompanies, Kasim says it is great. Michael "what's his name, i always forget it"says it is great, so i expect a lot of it. Yes, i am afraid but it is impossible what you are saying. I have heard to songs now, DIST and CHSIB. They are very very great. DIST is his best single in years! Maybe you just have to listen a few times. Many songs i do not like the first time i hear it.

DIST is also Meat's ONLY single in years.

This isn't really a factor - we will all buy the album. 80% of Meat's fans will buy the album whether "Do It" is a good song or not. Does it matter?

WHITE OF HIGH.... You've made me feel sick!! kazaa? Please tell me you havent based your negative opinion on the KAZAA CONTINIUOS LOOPS....was it you that earlier posted the songs sound repetive lol - whoever said that had been on Kazaa too.
I have heard final demos........ out of intereset after reading about the kazaa clips i downloaded a couple. I have the full Man of Steel - then i went and downloaded of Kazaa their Man of Steel - its the same duration - 4.43 - only it repeats one verse and the chorus over and over and over for the 4.43 - PLEASE TELL ME THAT SOMEONE HASNT THOUGHT THESE WERE THE FINAL VERSIONS - DIDNT YOU NOTICE HOW THE SAME WORDS WENT ON AND ON AN ON UNTIL THE END....!!!! The only songs you like just happen to be DIST and CHSIB - coincidencily are both not looping versions. PLEASE FOLKS KEEP WELL AWAY FROM KAZAA - IF U R TEMPTED BY THE NEW ALBUM HONESTLY NOT HEARING ANYTHING UNTIL MARCH 31ST IS BETTER THAN HREARING A KAZAA LOOP - I ALSO NOTICE KAZAAS PACE IS FAR SLOWER ON MAN OF STEEL THAN ON MY FINAL VERSION. WHITE OF HIGH - PLEASE SAY NO MORE UNTIL MARCH 31ST - IF YOU STILL FEEL THE SAME THEN NO PROBS AT LEAST U'LL HAVE HEARD THE SFULL SONGS

You're welcome Bart

Everybody's entitled to their own opinion !!

But based on the songs that I've heard :

DIST - full version from the CD single
CHSIB - clip from the BBC2 Radio
Tear Me Down - live (Summer tour)
Why Isn't That Enough - clip from meatloaf.de site

Meat's never sounded better, shows true emotion (mainly in DIST), and the album is going to be amazing I admit it's hard to judge some of the songs by the small clips ... but they've really peaked my curiousity and I can't wait to hear the entire thing !!

Granted some people might not like it because they think it's not typical Meat Loaf music -even Meat said that it's different - but is change a bad thing? I just think it's fantastic that he's willing to take a chance and try something different That to me is a sign of a truly gifted singer ... And don't be afraid Bart ... I'm sure it'll be a big success for him !!

Default album

I must admit after reading all your posts - I'm beginning to wonder - I haven't been lucky enough to hear anything apart from DIST which I love - but truly believe a Meatloaf fan will buy the album anyway without listening to it first- I certainly will

Default Stop all the fighting

Hey, folks !

Listen to the music you like ... and don't fight with others in cause of different opinions ! Think, we all shall be happy to get something from our favorite Meat Loaf. What place CISIB will have on your personal charts ... who knows ! But be tolerant ... on my promo are more and less better songs ( in my own opinion ), but it's great for all of us to have a new album !

Listen to the music ... in peace !

Yours

Mystery Man

Mystery man,
(I)CHSIB(M)
There are more and less better songs on my promo aswel.
But these are opinions. You say this so 'to the point'.
Do you also feel like you've won the lottery?
I still can't get over it!
I am 35, but suddenly it seems I am 18 all over again!
And I promised myself I am going to hold on to this feeling!
Why don't we talk about this later, but I must warn you, I didn't really want to talk about this first. But now I do. So?

About downloading.... wheather a person can't wait for the album to be released or not: a real fan wants to have the original album and buys it anyway.
At least: I do....

Downloaded Decadent Wish and the album-version of DIST.
Know a lot of people who did that..
But the promo-cd was a gift, one I am most grateful for. Thank you!!
Can not promise I will never download another song, sorry.
Can you?

Take care,

Mariella

Don't know the definition of 'a real fan'.

imo nothing wrong with downloading before buying... I do that myself.
The definition of a real fan? Dunno either... I see myself as a real fan. But on the other hand: I don't collect anything. No bootlegs, nothing...
I'm just very into Meat. The music, the voice... it gets under my skin, in a GOOD kinda way.

Yes ... I can promise I won't download any of the songs I know a lot of people who do, and that's fine. But I just don't believe in doing that. I won the DIST promo single on Ebay, and then bought the DIST CD Single when it came out :)

I'm glad you're enjoying the promo-cd! I listened to CHSIB on the BBC2 radio site and the clips on meatloaf.de, so I know the CD will be amazing. I've pre-ordered CHSIB from Amazon.com.uk, so now I'll just wait until I get it before hearing the rest of the songs

btw ... I don't know the meaning of a 'real fan' either -:) But I collect
Meat Loaf videos just like I collect Disney & Alfred Hitchcock DVDS ... mainly because I enjoy watching them

Hi Vicki,
I salute you on this one! I love it when someone sticks to their principles, specially in a situation like this! I wouldn't have been able to be this strong.
That's why I am very happy I didn't have to make this choice, it was a 'coincidence', a gift, that's why it feels like winning the lottery.
And believe me I am counting the days, so you can enjoy this incredible album! I want you all to be this happy.

Good to know you won the DIST promo.
That is also a 'coincidence'..

Great day to you,

Mariella
