I've tried defending him on this page quite a lot, and anywhere else I see shit posted. It's just a losing battle thought, too many trolls.

This is exactly why Meat should ignore this stuff. A near toothless guy who can not grow a proper mustache, has bad tattoos, and purple tinted glasses. He probably posted from his mom's basement next to the furnace off the neighbor's wi-fi. I suspect there's a lot of things he'd do for $500 alright.

I just i off after he said, and i quote:

"For years and years and years he basically just ABUSED HIS FANS, quite often DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR CONCERTS, QUITE OFTEN CANCELED CONCERTS, he would turn up and sing a few songs and then crack a sh-t and walk off stage....."

This toothless freak has Meat confused with Axl Rose.

The trouble is people don't keep up to date, and people who haven't seen him in concert before probably expect him to sound like he does on Bat Out Of Hell 1 & 2. Well guess what, he doesn't. He's been singing 40+ years, those albums were sped up, he's had 4 surgeries on his voice over the years, and the songs he sings are the hardest out there and wears down the voice like no other artists songs. So anyone who thinks he should sound the same as 1977 or 1993 is lazy and hasn't done their homework as he said.
I don't think people should be required to "do their homework" in order to enjoy a show; they pay their money and expect to be entertained.

Personally, I like to know what songs an artist has been performing before I go to a show, because I feel that I enjoy the concert better if I know the songs. However, I don't feel that I'm under any obligation to do so, and that I'm "dumb" if I don't.

IMHO I think he was talking about the people (so-called "fans") who complain when he doesn't sound exactly the same way he did when BOOH came out back in the 70's, not the fans who may not know what songs he's going to sing at the show.

It's probably just me but I'm sorry to say that I found parts of that video on the couriermail site a bit disturbing to say the least.

Yeah, I think that's what he meant too; what I was getting at was that for me, that's the extent of "homework" that I do, and for my own reasons. Granted, expectations versus reality are one thing, but to say that people are "lazy" because they didn't make an effort to find out what the artist sounds like now is just wrong, IMO. I don't think it's part of the "contract" when I buy a ticket- the performer is required to prepare, not the audience.

This toothless freak has Meat confused with Axl Rose.
I haven't watched this and have no intention of doing so.

My question is, if the man recording this is as appallingly rude as it appears, and if he said what you have posted here .. why did you bring it here and embed it?

Meat's suffered an appalling campaign of abuse, and from the interview which I've now seen, is still clearly upset by it. Not surprising imo. He's had to weather a sustained torrent of abuse directed at him by a vociferous minority (who mostly in my view know little about him or his work but are just the kind of empty vessels which jump on any chance to attack those with the kind of success they could never dream of achieving; anyone who could weather that without being profoundly hurt would have the hide of a rhino, and not be the caring and compassionate man he is, nor deliver songs with such deep emotional intensity.

Meat may be cruising YT for all I know, looking for videos that are a further collection of misinformation and profanity directed at him, his professionalism, his acting and his performing skills, but personally I doubt it. He has been visiting here regularly though, commenting on threads relating to the Australian tour, and it seems to me that a thread with this title might well attract his attention.

So why bring this here? If someone draws on's attention to something cruel, ridiculing, profane, arguably libellous, about one it's hard to ignore it. But not something one wants to see surely? Certainly not likely to make one feel better, or put the abuse behind one. I just wonder why ..

There are a lot of complaints about the video posted. Frankly, embedding the video was not the best move to make. The poor, toothless, uneducated, jackass who created the video does not deserve the hits we are sending his way. I went off on his comments - let the attacks come. I am ready with my flame-proof suit. Please - avoid the video at all costs...further, re-embedding it makes it all the much worse for wear.

Everyone - Please....

Having the video embedded here only serves to add fuel to the fire. I believe the video does not serve to do anything other than feed the frenzy already - on both sides. The video is only making fans on this site more angry than they already are. If you have a problem with the video, look it up on youtube and post comments on the poor guy's site like I did.

I honestly feel it is best left off this site.

Thank you. I agree. This site seems to be for positive, constructive feedback, and at times, when he hops on here, a dialogue with Meat and his fans, and I don't think that video served any valid purpose here. It's very easy to jump onto a bandwagon, in either direction, and we are here to support Meat and not act as childish and ridiculous as some of the haters. I'm not saying posting the video here did that, but it's easy to start throwing mud back. Is that what we want to do? Really?...

Yes, while we may be interested to see the videos posted by haters, but we have to be careful (IMO) to not respond back in a way that makes us just as bad and childish as they are.

Let's rise above it and remember what we are here for.
The Man.
Let's continue to support him and not get sucked into outside drivel.

Here for you FIRE BALL
