I was wondering if the move to Austin had something to do with Meat going back to his roots (sort of) to retire; looks like it might be on the cards for next year then.

Glad you notice the positives. Saw you in Durham in August and it was fantastic. There will always be the occasional negative comment when people express opinions, but well over 90% of what is posted here is very positive. If people were 90% + positive about me I'd take that any day. Always going to be some negatives in life. I got the impression that you were not so much reacting to the comment when you mentioned Sept. 2013 than that you had something in the works for that already.

And this from the guy who made the statements about timing on the giving tree performance that ran Meat off the last time selective memory you got there.

Quite frankly Meat overreacted to my statement. One person expresses a dislike for 1, I'll say that again, 1 product, that being the DVD, and meats reaction is to announce retirement.

And your damn right I want board tapes. The MMW IMO is much better than the GP tour, and I would like to have a professional recording of it.

So in the future let us not forget our own past when scolding someone in the present, because that is just a tad hypocritical.

True.
Some people will do that.

See my earlier comment regarding beer and rock n roll.
We call this concept "Fun" (<-----this guys getting quite the outing this post).

We are here for honest opinion posted in a respectful manner.
OK "sounds far from perfect" isn't the nicest thing you could say, but i'll lay whatever odds anyone wants to throw down that it's nowhere near the worst thing he's had said to him in the last 35 years.

Quoted for truth.

Again, if you listen to it for the purposes of "Fun" you'll have a great time, i'm sure.
Listen to it as some sort of homework project and the fun sort of flies away.

Get tanked and sing along (I should have been in advertising )

One person on this thread has said something you don't like so you slate the fanclub?
That's not exactly fair Meat.
That's like blaming all English people because Piers Morgan is an asshole.

See the comment above about not pleasing everyone.
It's TRUE.
Come on, you know this by now Meat.
I can't believe this is the same guy who stood on a sidewalk in New York shouting "F*CK YOU CLIVE".

If you see the odd comment that isn't positive here it's because you are not god, you are not perfect, and not everyone will be pleased by every single thing you do.

But if I had your overall approval rating..........

Also consider that your fans are those most likely to know you best, and expect the best. Sometimes standards can be unrealistic.

And one final thing to consider.
People know your work here, so you might not be criticised anywhere else like you are here (which I personally don't believe) but you also don't have such an outporing or love, support, and affection either many other places either.

You know this yourself because you wrote.................

If the ammount of positive comments are not enough to water down the minority of negative opinions, then we're going to need a bigger boat.

I understand this. It's not nice being criticised. But anyone who stands on a stage will get it. Even within their own fanbase. But the love always outways the negative opinion.

You said "We are here for honest opinion posted in a respectful manner. Undoubtedly Mouse, but as the performer I would feel the word "screaming" a pretty insulting comment, and as me consider it far from respectful as well as likely to provoke a reaction.

True .. and as I said, I believe Meat knows this and values it. I also think (in no small part because of this) he's been working on NOT being guy who stood on a sidewalk in New York shouting "F*CK YOU CLIVE" when he comes here

*"Screaming" Mayor may not have been the best choice of words for the matter. But when I listen to the clip of hot patootie that's what I feel it sounds like. And what I have said on this thread being labeled as right or wrong does not change how I feel about the product. Simply expressing what I feel about this product and this product only

Which is ok, it's the continually expressing your feelings about this product despite you saying you weren't going to say anything else that's beginning to grate on me.

Well the reason that I have done that is because several people have addressed me directly and I felt the need to respond to some of their issues. When people stop addressing me i will not have a reason to post on this thread

Actually you want to get your facts straight. Fact is I made a mistake and apologised for it, which I don't see you doing so it's completely different.

Plus also Meat didn't run off because of me. He ran off because of the stick he had taken from so many other members, it just so happened my mistake was there to be used at the time as an example why he was leaving. You know how I know this? Meat and I spoke via PM and settled it.

So you are completely and utterly wrong in both regards, plus you slate Meats vocals on songs as being terrible, and then ask him for something.

Enough with the personal attacks.
There is a difference between personal opinion and attacking someone.
Any more will earn the poster a few points and get the thread locked.

In fact, let's put a stop to this whole game of Who Shot John and get back to the subject of the DVD and the review.

Dya know what, I wish I hadn't put anything on here. I stated that I was excited about the new DVD and what I heard so far sounded fantastic and it has just escalated into something I didn't want to see.
Meat, I dont want you to be out of my hair this time next year. I really dont. You have made an awesome collection of albums in my car. I truly, truly hope you continue to do what you do but I want you to be happy doing it. If you're not happy doing it then you do what you feel is right of course.
I am sorry to everyone, including Meat Loaf, for my original comment which has spurred on all the negativity and arguing that Meat has had to read.

I would like to apologise again for my original comment.

Take it easy guys and dont take it all to heart please, Meat! I still love ya!

Meat, please, please, please dont make a decision whilst you're heated or upset because, someone once said to me, "Ollie, when you're heated or upset or angry, you dont ever, ever, ever make a drastic decision because it will be the one and only decision you will ever regret making." And Meat, I would like you to promise us you will calm down, away from this forum and seriously have a good think about it all, because quite frankly millions of people, worldwide, love you and respect you.
Take care Meat! Xx

Well said. It was only one person, who from what I can see, is usually hugely positive. Its not like the negativity was disrespectful or abusive imo, and certainly not enough to start another posting war ... I think we definitely need that boat ...

Ollie you have nothing to apologise for, absolutely nothing. Why should you apologise for a positive good comment? Yes there have been arguments but that is not to do with you. You have nothing to apologise for. I too am super excited about this DVD, only 7 days to go! And it does sound great! I can't wait to get my surround sound on!

Vicki, sweetie, it seems to me that everytime I post on here or I support Meat it escalates into something that it shouldn't escalate into. To be quite honest sweetie, I'm starting to feel the same way as Meat is feeling about this forum!
