What has all this shark business got to do with the hall of fame?

Unless people are hoping the hall of fame museum gets flooded with whale sharks, and those that haven't picked Meat for the hall of fame get eaten!!

Yes, well, I guess when we get to whaling, it's time to end the tale ! Imo, Meat seems reluctant about going into the RNRHOF, so what's to talk about there anymore ? Imo, he'll be voted in when the powers in charge decide to allow/vote him in.

Then on second thought, or third ... lol ... Meat did make mention of names not in there who should be iho, so perhaps we should take a look at those names and find the common denominator ! There's a way to continue on topic ! And bring up other names and see what's in common with them as well !

Ballots will be sent to more than 500 voters, who will select artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 26th Annual Induction Ceremony. To be eligible for nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. The 2011 Nominees had to release their first recording no later than 1985.

Who cares if Meat ever gets into the R&R hall of fame he does not need to get in something that is so short sighted they have not already inducted him. It is their loss not Meat's

Some people on that list should NOT be inducted. Some of them aren't worthy enough to tie Meat's shoelaces let alone get into the HOF ahead of him.

At least an artist can boast about being in the RnRHOF. It looks good on their CV, so it's worth something I guess.

CV was maybe the wrong thing, but it looks good on their biography. You can't deny that Andrew. A lot of artists would regard getting into the hall of fame as their greatest achievement, because they can lay claim to being a Rock N Roll LEGEND then.

Yes but Meat has already stated he doesn't give a shit, so what the hell are you on about that it would improve his CV?

Personally I'd take a bunch of happy fans over some moronic RNR hall of fame recognition any day. In the past I've wondered why Meat wasn't in there (along with Steinman as in the songwriter category I may add) and know people have been having debates on this forum for yonks. However the more I think about it, it's really nonsense, especially considering the list they put out this year. It doesn't mean jack shit. Getting in the hall of fame doesn't pay bills or have much influence world wide at all I reckon. Outside of this forum, seeing the film "The Rocker" and hearing bits and pieces about Bruce Springsteen I wouldn't even have known about it, so how does it in God's name help? There is so much music out there, who gives a shit whether or not some stupid rock and roll hall of fame recognises it?
