Important please - can you see the pictures????

Under the topic "World Of Angels" (White Of High) I have posted some pics, and once I look I can see the pictures, and at other times there's just a red x!

I have NO clue if it's just due to my server or anything??? I THINK I have done everything correctly as far as posting images goes!? Can YOU see my pics...???

No, we don't see them!
You have to cut here the address and indicate it and press the "Img" button! The picture has to be there!

Immer mit der Ruhe - es funktioniert genauso, wie Du es haben wolltest.
Geduld - die Bilder sind stellenweise sehr gross.

Calm down - it works just like you wanted to.
It's just the image size which causes a bottleneck on your connection.
Remember - if you are viewing a thread with 20 images embedded, all images are going to be downloaded by your browser.

Hi Wild Honey.
I had the same problems, i tried to post images on world of angels. they didnt work. i dont see your images, and i assume you dont see mine or my avatar

the images are my own and i have tried uploading them to several different webspace providers, so that i may post them here. my son thinks that because they offer free space, they dont want you hosting the images with them and then using them elsewhere. they would rather that if they are giving you a free website, that you use the files you ave with them on the webiste they gave you.
I am still searching for one that works, but no luck yet.

R. can you help? we need advice. I just end up feeling foolish because nothing works

If you use an img tag (or an offsite avatar) here and if the website hosting that image checks from where the image is requested and if the webserver is set up to deny off-site requests, it will dump the request.
Hence you will see no picture.

Got it?
Ok - let's see:

1. thread on mlukfc.com with embedded image
2. request from your browser to server that hosts embedded image
3. hosting server checks: who wants that picture and why (internal or external link)?
4. hosting server dumps the request if he's not allowed to serve external request.

To put it in a nutshell: If the hosting server recognises an external referer, he might drop the request (Geocities, as an example).

do you know any free webhosts that wouldn't block external referers, so that we can share our images here?

or is it going to be a matter of trial and error until we get lucky?
